Thought on what is going on in the next year.

Ok please don't close this and please don't fight just here me out.

We all know that CP installation calender works in 2-3 years ahead of time. So this means that CP's plans for 2002 are already set and they most likely won't change it just to get the most coasters record back. Although they may.

Also I doubt that CP will get a TA2K, Flying, or 4-D or anything new we have seen lately. Why because this stuff just came out in like that last two years. I know TA2K and flying did.

I'm not ruling out the idea that they might have found a way to improve these ideas and make it better than their prototype brother/sisters. I say this because they started MF about 4 years before its release.

I think we'll most likely see some proven ride taken to a whole new level like most of CP's latest coasters. Maybe we'll see something brand new, and if it is I'm sure it'll be a good coaster or ride.

Just my thoughts.
You have to realize that the TA2K concept has been a long time coming. I guarantee that CP knew about TA2K 2-3 years ago, probably even longer ago. CP people were defintely at the S&S compound for the unveiling of the prototype, and probably were talking to S&S about it long before then.

While the idea of a TA2K may be new to us, it's not *that* new in the grand scheme of the ride industry.
To give you an idea how long the idea has been around...

I learned about the S&S coaster prototype project at the same time that I learned about Power Tower, some weeks before the land-clearing got underway for Power Tower. So that project has been in the works for a very long time.

Exactly, Ride! Those in the "industry" (i.e. park officials) know whats up and coming a LONG time before the "rest" of us do. I don't see Arrow's 4th D at CP anytime soon, mainly becuase X at MM is a prototype, and I personally think it will be too intense. No need for a flying since SFWOA has one, (beside I think CP will wait for the B/M version). The TA2K seems to be the next "logical" step for the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of reasons that people have stated time and time again in the million of 2002 threads already started...

mikey :)
P.S. If it turns out NOT to be the TA2K, I will be very shocked and bummed

If I am not mistaken Raptor was built the year after the first inverted. Correct me if I am wrong.

I thought Batman Opened in 1992...

Yep, after a quick jump over to Coasterbuzz, it's confirmed. SFGAm built the first Batman: The Ride in 1992. 2 years before Raptor.
Oh, I know that the CP has probably known about TA2K for a very long time I'm just saying that CP has been doing what is proven except much better. PKD has there TA2K up and running, but last time I checked it had only one train. This would kill at CP because of capacity. CP may put one of these in, but unless CP and S&S has come up with a better capacity I don't see one coming very soon. Yet, this is CP and they usually do get things running smoothly pretty quick.

Who knows, it probably will be a TA2K, but I still don't think that they'll go for the most coaster record.

Ok, I read that older topic, and I'd say that it changed my view. I'm not taking back anything I said, because I said what I said.

Dan and Jeff really put it out there for us, and I have faith in Jeff and Dan. I hope that CP does get their newest ride (whatever it is) running good, quick.

Thanks _____ for pointing out that old topic. My apologies I can't remember your name, but Thanks. *** This post was edited by Feel_The_Force on 6/28/2001. ***
Capacity! Capacity! Capacity!

mikey :)
I would love to see any kind of coaster at Cedar Point! I know they spend a ton of time on every detail of a new attraction, making it so you can't get enough of it.

I was there today (June 28th) and was looking around at some possible places for a new coaster. Wow, it would be picture perfect to see a TA2K go in along the lagoon, starting near Chaos, and go up around Mine Ride, then go all the way back to ID. Check it out next time form the second lift of MR.

How is everyone sure that CP is getting a coaster next year? I mean I'm not doubting it, I just wanna know how everyone is so sure. Where did this rumor start?
Maybe a TA2K is just what they WANT you to think ;). I'm really not too concerned about it. It's nothing to cry and whine over, it's just a roller coaster. Whatever it is, I'm sure everyone on here will be happy with it. Also, if CP knew about the TA2K, that means most of the other parks did too.
There's got to be a lot in store for the new concept.
