I know its kind of early to be talking about 07 coasters next year but i still think will being some sort of track by the middle of next year season. I'm guessing we should atleasty see track by july if its something big and if we see anything big from mean streak in the WWL around we should start guessing whats coming. I think either a dueling B&M flyer (tallest fastest longest) or a intamin coaster (tallest fastest).
Bring back Boblo!
Whoever started that B&M dueling flyer rumor is full of crap.

You're probably not going to see a ride go up when another park of yours has a similar ride an hour away and you've publicly stated that the 2 parks won't compete against each other.
Yes I realize that the other one is a Vekoma, but it doesn't make sense either way.

R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.
But you also have to take into consideration the core marketing target areas for both parks. Cedar Point advertises mainly to central Ohio, NE Indiana, and the Detroit area. Geauga Lake's core market is NE Ohio, and eastern Pennsylvania. The only advertising area that would be affected by both parks having a flyer or floorless is the area that is in between Sandusky and Cleveland, which isn't a huge part of either park's attendance.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
This topic is way too far in advance to talk about. Lets get through 2006 and when August comes, bring this topic back. In my area Blue Streak64, I have advertising for both Geauga Lake and Cedar Point. I most of the time see more Geauga Lake Commercials, but still see my share of Cedar Point commercials as well. I think if a flyer or floorless were added, it wouldn't affect Geauga Lake too much.
Weren't The footers for TTD poured in the winter of 01-02 or the summer of 02? If that is right Footers might be poured this winter the coaster might be built next winter and debut in 07. This topic might not be two early.
Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.
I liked Kinzel's comment about WWL's plot of land. It was something to the effect of "Yeah, it's a beautiful piece of real estate, isn't it."
That pretty much screams that they are going to use it for 2007. That area is comparable in size to what Mean Streak takes up. If they would happen to annex Antique Cars' area as well, that just increases the possibilities. Although it's been thrown around so much that people want to scoff at the possibility, I wouldn't be surprised if they put in the 500+ footer. If they did, I would hope that they have an MF style lift and make it the longest as well, maybe breaking 10,000 feet.
I would find it surprising if they didn't do some kind of site prep or footer pouring this off-season, actually.

Cedar Point brings in guests from as much as 250 miles away on a regular basis. Geauga Lake is well within 250 miles of Cedar Point so a flyer or floorless coaster would have an affect on Geauga Lake. I still think that they should get a B&M Dive Machine. The dueling flyers and the 500 ft. coasters are BS. Cedar Point doesn't have that much space besides the WWL area which is impossilbe to house a 10,000 foot coaster. Where the hell are they going to put a 10,000 foot coaster? Nowhere.

^ (Not saying they will) Cedar Point Coud easily fit a 10,000 ft long coaster in there park. It's called designing. Also who said CP had to have all the coaster in the WWL plot of land?

They started on Dragster in the 01-02 off season and you started to see track and the tower later that summer of 02.

2007-2008 Dueling Dragons TL
2008- present Sea World Orlando Shamu Lead Area 2
So do you think if there going to build a 500+ coaster that we would see construction now?
Bring back Boblo!
I think it would be too early to even plan a coaster 500 ft. I mean come on Dragster has only had 3 running seasons? Why does everyone want to break the height barrier all the time? Let me say this, breaking the height barrier all the time will not always bring guests in. You have to build family rides as well. Last year we built MaXair and next year we'll have Skyhawk. MaXair is an awesome ride and I know Skyhawk will be just as awesome. You guys want a 500 ft in 2007, I bet 2 years later everyone here will be wanting a freakin 700 ft coaster. We are lucky to live near a Park like Cedar Point. Some parks only have 3 coasters. Why don't they build another coaster? I like what the other guy on here said, Lets build something from B&M!
If they can find a way to do it by altering an already reliable design (like Millennium Force), I don't see any bad that could come from it.
I personally say a B&M Dive Machine like SheiKra but much taller, faster, and longer :)

Don't count on the latter...Let's get through 2006 first.
