This is just my opinion on the shows this year.
Snoopys summer vacation.....b-
I give it a b- because it is basicly the same show as last year and it could use more skating and less snoopy. The part of the show where there are 2 ice skaters doing stunts, gets the biggest round of applouse(sp) from the audiance.
Divas.......c-
I give it a c- because its just a boring show....the music selections are bad and the show just kind of drags on.
Living in america.......b
The show starts out good, gets boring in the middle and ends great. The middle of the show is lack luster. It has a great ending with the magic tricks.
Extreme splash......c-
This show just does not impress me. It has very little dive'ing and its just lame. I do like the one high dive they do have at the end though.
Rock the house.......a-
This is a great all around show. It has high energy and the singers hit almost every note. The only negetive I have(and its not that bad) is some of the choices of music they sing.
Hot summer lights.............d
This show is horrid. The only good thing about it is that the firewater effect is cool. Without the lasers the show is just boring. It seemed to me like a big commercial. Dont waste your time with this one.
This is just my opinion on the shows this year....what do you guys think of the shows?
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I saw Hot Summer Lights last night. The stuff on the screen was boring and just dumb. If they just had a bunch of fireworks and the firewater, I think it would improve the show a lot.

Seems to me like it makes more sense to just watch the "fireworks" from Hot Summer Lights while waiting in line for something.

Snoopy's summer vacation is perfect the way it is. Less Snoopy? It's called SNOOPY'S summer vacation, not "ice skating with hot girls in s'mores outfits all the time." Besides, who cares if it's the same as last year's show? The previous years when it was Snoopy Rocks! on ice were the same.
Kids love snoopy, and I'm starting to realize that I do, too. Jen has 6 beagles and he reminds me of them.
Short story - when we were watching the show the other day, every time snoopy came out, this little girl behind us would yell "DOGGIE! DOGGIE! DOGGIE!" it was really cute as that was probably one of the only few words she knew, she was right around the age of just learning to talk.
I agree with your opinion of Livin' in America, though. It's a good show, but during the middle-section, my mind wandered away a little bit.
I don't know what you mean by better songs at the Red Garter. I think the selection is awesome, 2 Boston songs, a Doobie Brothers song, even Motley Crue. You can't go wrong.
Hot summer lights, UGH. I've seen it a few times just to make sure I wasn't missing something, but there's just something missing there. Some of the stuff is pretty entertaining, like the rabbit that just sits there on Abracadabra, but overall I'm just kind of bored with it.
Divas just plain sucks, and the diving show is typical of any diving show.
I am just saying that there is not enough skating in the show. If kids want to see snoopy, they can go to camp snoopy. You can still have snoopy in the show, just balance it out better.

I agree with most comments here.
I enjoyed the dive show last week. First time ever seeing it! True, there isn't a lot of diving. But remember CP is all about providing family entertainment. I found it to be a very cute show.
As for Hot Summer Lights - I guess I'm in the minority here. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't see it all the time, though. I think CP hyped up the whole "firewater" concept too much. They made it sound like cutting edge. Just some flames along with music and video. I sat in the middle of midway so I had a good experience. I am glad they tried something different. I know I was getting tired of the same ol laser show every year with very little changes. Again, looking at it from a different perspective, I think it is a great way to end the day with the family!
I've been meaning to review the Garter show, which is generally pretty good if you ignore the absolute worst costumes in the history of live entertainment. How three women that beautiful could look that bad is a crime.

Oh man, that redhead is "smokin'". How could I not make a play on one of the Boston songs in the show? :).
Out with Hot Summer Lights! If they're going to continue to do the show, bring back the old Cedar Point Summer Spectacular.

I think you're being incredibly selfish. There's plenty of skating in the show. I just don't get how you can't see that.
If it was a show full of solos and 2 people spinning each other, it would get boring. If you want to see that much plain figure skating, turn on ABC.
Hot Summer Lights was a huge embarassment. When I went to CP with my cousins last week, I forced them to see it instead of riding some more, and we ended up leaving halfway through the show. In my opinion, the firewater was pointless. It was very small and kind of annoying. Every time it shot up in the air, it made the place too bright (and hot) and made whatever they were showing on the screen invisible.
I think what the Cedar Point nightime show needs is a theme like Fantasmic and Illuminations at Disney World. These shows are entertaining, while Hot Summer Lights is nothing more than a big, terrible, music video.
Plus, I hate how the show takes up the Million Dollar Midway. The screen blocks the train station, the projection building is an eyesore, and so are the green poles with the projectors and screens on them. Without the show, CP could add some nice floral arrangements to that midway along with some benches and food stands.
It wouldn't be so bad if it even rolled up for the day time. Sure, there'd be an ugly silver structure there, but at least you could see through it.
It would be really nice if it was all done Disney-style and lowered into the ground during the day, only to be raised half an hour before the show. That damn water table. :arrrgh:
Well, apparently the park likes hanging things off the side of Mean Streak...

I absolutely love Snoopy's Summer Vacation. My kids look forward to our trip to Cedar Point just to see all the characters.
As far as "Hot Summer Lights"..... just get rid of it. I too was very fond of the old show because it seemed to always get people involved. This year, I just wanted to leave half way through.... it was absolutely boring. I recently visited Disney as was quite impressed with the fireworks, etc. at the end of the day.

the screen doesn't have to go into the ground. they could use telscoping supports. that wouldn't be hard at all. but, i've despised that screen and projection booth since they installed them. and, i've never liked the show. well, i take that back. the best show was last year when we just saw the fireworks from the top of power tower. THAT was awesome.
I find this years live shows to be quite good. I am glad they kept Living in America for another season, as that is one of my favorites of all the Cedar point shows. My only complaint is they need to bring back LIVE musicains in ALL the shows, that canned music has got to go! As far as Hot Summer Lights, it needs improvement. A show with both lasers and the fire water would be good! I think they need to move the entire show to the beach, and create a show like Sea World used to have over the water in the water ski stadium. They had some sort of "Water Screen", lasers, and the best fireworks I've ever seen.
