This will be a short ride.

Jeff stated that the drawing has too much track. It looks like the length of the ride is what enthusiasts will be complaining about.

It is going to be a short ride, I think!! But hopefully it will be more than just launch, tophat, brakes!
No matter what the layout, it will be a short ride. The speed this thing will be moving at will be unmatched.

What I've been thinking about is if there are elements after the tophat, how would they combat wheels getting worn out quickly without redesigning the trains so that they have a larger wheels? Something you might want to think about.

What are you trying to say, CP bound???

Didn't they get larger wheels for MF?

If so, why not for this one?

A long coaster wouldn't damage wheels any more than a short coaster.

Also, no matter how long the track is, the ride will still seem short. If this ride really is over 100 mph (which it probably will be), then the train is going to blast through the circut, in almost no time at all.

As for this whole launch-tophat-brakes theory, I'm really not sure what to say. My last visit to Cedar Point, was 1999 so I've yet to view the pattern of the footers. However, I trust some of our sources, and if they say so, I'll keep it in mind.

Not necessarily a long ride being more detrimental in general, but a sustained exteme speed in excess of 100 mph being detrimental.

S:TE has much larger wheels to keep them from heating up. The smaller the radius of the wheel, the more rotations. The faster you go, more friction causes them to heat up. Supposedly, Goliath and MF had problems early on with the wheels melting because of the inferior compound they were using. I don't think that these claims were backed up by anything evident, but what about 20+mph more?

Without redesigning the trains to possess larger wheels, can the ride run with excessive speeds on a longer course than L:TH:B with the same radius of wheels as MF? I guess we'll see.

Although I don't care if they don't, I would think they would do something to try to use/burn the speed off a little before you hit the brakes, but I don't think it will be anything spectacular doing such.

Actually, I can confirm that there will be at least one bunny hop, made evident by the height of the bolts on three of the footers relative to the lower heights on the rest of the footers.

Also, much more of the midway has been marked to be torn out, it will be interesting to see how they re-route the midway. Of course, I think we can all guess at this point as to how that will be done.

If the ride was really a L...TH...B and excessing speeds of 100 mph then how long will the ride be? Like, 25 seconds?

How exactly does bolt height confirm a bunny hop? I doubt there will be any rerouting of the midway, probably only widening of the midway, and I'll say it will be 33 seconds long.

Thank you neo for pointing out something obvious, there is more midway marked to be torn up. And call me crazy but i dont think that they would just drain and fill in that part of the lagoon just for a queue line, there is plenty of other places they could put it without having to do such a dramatic facelift. I have a picture of what looks to be part of a banked curve, which to me indicates a turn of some sort, so going by what I see there will be more after the drop. If someone can host the pic for me i will post it. Oh and they have also removed the black fence along the midway between the ID pretzel and super himalaya. So expect that area to change dramaticly as soon as the park closes.

Thanks boss.....now is it me or does that track on the right look like it'll be part of a turn?!?!?!
Yup, the one on the right definately starts to bank to the right, and, another sign of major speed, it is a very slow start on the transition.

[Edit] Thinking more about this, since you can't tell if it has and curve to it, this piece could be the start of the twist at the top of the tophat the others see aren't the full 90 degree twist.

How does anyone know that they didn't figure out a new compound to use for the wheels. Obviously several good years of thinking and research went into this coaster, so I wouldn't really worry about it. I'm sure they've got it covered. And if they don't, well I guess I'll have to get there early in the morning before the wheels do start heating up...
