Man is it cold here in Michigan! Snowing in April? I was just wondering hows the weather in Sandusky? Any improvements in the forecast coming? We need it to get warmer for opening day!
Question:Has it ever snowed while CP has been open? Just wondering.
No need for two weather posts...

To answer your question: I believe it has snowed in October a few times during Halloweekends, but nothing more than light snow.

Then after 40 days it will be 83 degrees for 7 days and then back to the same thing again.

Oh ok, never saw that thread. When was this when it snowed?
We got hit with some sleet the last Saturday of the season in 2001.
Last year on the Saturday of Closing Weekend I was pelted by sleet while I rode Skyhawk in the morning. Painful, but fun.

It's not that uncommon. It's also April 7. Give the weather a chance.

Are you sure it wasn't just the rain at 60mph? It's hard to tell the difference.

No, it was sleet. Just as we were walking to our seats it started coming down. Later in the day it rained, fortunately we had shelter in Gemini's station.

"Give the weather a chance" hu Craig?
Let's just say that weather and I don't get along very well....especially rain and wind. As long as it's sunny and pleasant, I'm content. But when the wind decides to kick up to 23mph while I'm at the point on the most emptiest day I've ever seen....then we have a problem.:)

It started to sleet in the morning of my last CP trip (October 14th), but it tapered off for the rest of the day.
Now only if it could deter the crowds...
TTT 120: C'mon. The wind isn't that bad. Its only the West wind that gives Dragster a headache. Besides, if your lucky enough to get a good gust from the West, then you may get a rollback :)
As long as it isn't windy as well as only being in the mid to low 50s by 6 am on opening day, I will be content. If its windy, I won't be a happy camper.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Well considering the wind was coming down from the north, I was less than surprised Dragster was still closed. In reality, it'll close if the winds are more than 30 at the top.....nevermind the direction.

I thought that at the top of Dragster's crest, you were faceing in a westernish direction (WNW?). Then again, I could be wrong. The iron boogers in my nose are about as bad as Tim "the tool man" Taylor.
Secondly, I thought that Dragster only had issues with a strong headwind at the crest. I figured they'd keep it open with a tailwind.
Tailwind headwind, doesnt matter. As long as the anemometer at the top reads above 30mph for more than 30 seconds then it shows up on the computer (or so I'm told).
And if you want to get technical on which direction you're facing when at the top, it's more or less west southwest.
