This is for the pointbuzzers planning on going to kings island opening weekend.

Just a heads up for all of you that plan on making the trip down to kings island on opening weekend.

They have changed opening weekend to sat only. They are not open on fri or sun. This is a huge dissapointment to me because it will be the only time that I can get down there for a while.

We have done opening weekend for the last 7 years, and the park has always been open on that sunday.

Oh, well, this sucks. I was planning on being there Saturday, for sure, if for no other reason than to check things out. Then I was planning on going with friends on Sunday, hoping against hope that it may not be quite as busy that day. Oh well. .

I can only imagine that saturday is going to be a madhose there.

Someone on CoasterBuzz indicated that they haven't changed anything, that Sunday was a closed/private function day from the time they posted the calendar.

Actualy thats not true.

When I booked the room(about a month ago)I checked the website and they were open on sunday. I believe the time was from 10-8.

^^That was me and I specifically remember seeing that the first time I checked the hours page over the holidays.

^I remember seeing the same, and made plans for the my trip the following weekend. So lets play the violins!

that is why all the parks put that the park schedule is subject to change because they can close the park at any time for a private function or if they feel that they need to close that park due other reasons

I do not really understand what the change is. The 2009 KI schedule has always stated that they are only open on Saturday April 18th '09. It was the same way in 2008. I drove down for opening day and drove back that evening. Than we stayed over the following weekend. Same thing we are doing this year.

That kind of stinks for everyone planning on going for a full weekend. But quite honestly I like KI because you can easily tackle that entire park in a day. See you all there on opening day! Anyone make a bid for DBack? I did.

It was never open Sunday, my company has had it booked for our company day for quite a long time. Can't wait to go with almost zero lines. Only way I will go to KI

You do realize we're talking about a day which could quite possibly be a cold and rainy day in Cincinnati, right? Doesn't sound like something to get all that excited about, especially if there are opening day 'kinks' to be worked out.

^^^I was going to, but I have to many people I'll be with on opening day to just go off on my own.:)

Last year it was only open on Sunday on the first weekend.

I still am planning to hit Kings Island on openeing day! I have always wanted to hit there on openeing day! I know I can't wait to hit our rides at the Point!!!!!!
