Think the GP has "Guessed What" yet?

After all of us who went to the point this weekend have seen the construction first hand, does anyone else see a growing consensus on what everyone thinks the ride is? It seems pretty obvious it is a Launch-Tophat-Twist-Brakes ride. Height between 300-350 feet. Speed could be anywhere from 100-120mph. The trains will go straight up the red and white side of the tophat and drop 90 degrees down the red side while twisting.

Anyone else see this and if all of the speculation is right, think CP will keep with their new style announcement gameplan and annoucne later than usual?

I don't think the general public even knows Cedar Point is building a new ride. However, those who know, don't know what it's going to be. Only a few of us enthusiast's know what the ride is going to be.

Wow, that's a lot of "know's"

It is a lot of knows isn't it?? :)

Twisting Rocket Coaster L:TH:TW:B. Take it to the bank (but don't bet the farm :) )

Yeah, alot of "knows". Especially when no one really does "know" what it's going to be...
i can only think that it won't be L-TH-B because it is so early in the season...surely don't need 4 months to test this ride...
maybe it's the most intense short ride ever and they need january thru april to test it and get the bugs out.

RE: YOUR 300-350 FOOT THEORY AND IT'S NEGLECT OF THE IDEA OF "UNSUPPORTED" TRACK

CC: PEOPLE WHO SPECULATE TOO MUCH WORLDWIDE WHILE GLUED TO THERE HOME CPU'S (or macs)

Have you ever considered the fact that this supposed "Rocket L:TH:B" may have unsupported track? Perhaps somewhere in the neighborhood of two hundred feet of it? Yes, let's suppose for the moment that our so called "dragster" is only going to have 200-300 feet of supported tower. This does not not necessarily mean that some of our desired (whatever comes after "giga-coaster") new thrill ride won't have at least 200 feet of unsupported track to complete the tophat? Nah, on second thought considering Intamin's record with unsupported track (see midnight weldings on the wt project) perhaps my theory is not such a good one. Oh well, just something for the popular kids to discuss.

They could have a lot of unsupported track,I don't know,I am just speculating like everyone else. With the cracks on WT I'm not sure anymore, but the forces would be different on a tophat, they wouldn't be bare ended spikes, the structure would strengthen itself.
The top piece of the top hat in the parking lot has a spot for a support. Though that does not mean Intamin has a bad record with unsupported track. Look at MF over the Island and Xcelerator, just 2 examples. Their box track design has proven itself already.

*If* that really is the top piece for the top hat. It could be for a bunny hill somewhere, we can't be so sure yet. I'm not saying it isn't for the TH but there still is a possibility and I'm not ready to give up all hope just yet. CP could have brought that peice in to mislead us, after all we are the ones they are screwin with. They've "decided to wait this thing out" because of all the hype it's getting. The real TH could be hiding somewhere. Don't assume everything so soon...

The Fast and the Fearless

Somehow, I doubt that the construction plan was designed with GTTP in mind. Given CF's focus on cost control (read the 2001 annual report for an idea), my guess is the plan is designed to finish the ride as quickly and inexpensively as possible.

However, this reminds me of a joke. How many GTTP'ers does it take to change a lightbulb? Only one. He holds the bulb, and lets the world revolve around him.
