They're not done yet!

If the roller coaster scared you...

RIDE IT AGAIN!!!

looking at THIS pic:

http://www.virtualmidway.com/popup/mysterypopup6001.asp?image=attraction384.jpg&title=Mystery%20Attraction

I believe that some of those breaks are trims, and there will be more to this ride than a L-TH-B

Think of Millennium Force: Let's put brakes at the very end to slow it down a lot so we can pull off some really tight Wildcat-type manuevers.

That may be a bad example, but I highly doubt CP is gonna lose the element of speed that this ride will produce to make it a little longer. Does it make sense? No.

Does doing THIS much construction without an announcement make sense? nope.

I guess theyre just on a roll ;)

The difference between people who say it will be long and the people who say it will be short is that the people who say it will be short actually can look at the construction site and realize they're are two perfectly straight lines of footers and supports.

However; has anyone else besides myself and my family seen the footer in the cluster of trees near the tower? It looks set back more towards where the Paddle Wheel Excursions docks were. Sorta "next to" the tower...just over there chillin'. Someone should get a pic of this footer so other people know what I am talking about. It's kinda hard to explain where it's located... but if you look at the drawings that people are posting...it would be on the left hand side of those pictures. Not too far from the yellow support tower...but sorta hidden in the foliage or trees over that way. Check it out if you go this weekend!

In my newly gained experience: you can fight morons all day, but you will NEVER win, since they are too stupid to understand anything but the breath that comes out of their mouth.

There is a huge difference between observation, and speculation. If you look through this forum the posts for a L TH B is from observation; however I have yet to see anything for a longer layout that ISN'T speculation. Now why would that be...... hmmmm... Maybe CP IS building a L TH B coaster after all.

House of Tomorrow: Only technology makes live worth living

Hi gang, the photo that big D posted told a tale. The ride will turn 90 degrees to the right on the way up like exlr8tor. Look at the support sticking out compare it to the one below it. 90 deg.difference.

It really would be cheaper to build the same ride here as knots berry farm.

Maybe it will be a double top hat ride, over the top.

All this guessing is giving me a headache.. I need to ride something :)

I'm not an old foggy I'm just an old coaster rider..

well, i just want to throw my two cents in. I first want to say that i have not been to the park since august, and all of my speculation come from things i have seen in picutres, and from watching your debates.

I must say that right now everything i have seen points to a L-TH-B ride. if this is the case, i will be disappointed with a 10 second ride, but if the launch and top hat, get the adrenalin flowing, i know that i will get right back in line.
Now, as to why they're doing it. I don't see a L-TH-B coaster being fairly expensive. I would guess that they are able to build this for around the same price as xcellerator, if not less than. think about it, you have one massively tall, yet fairly simple support tower, and the rest of the track is close to the ground meaning smaller and cheaper supports. a straight peice of box track, and brake track is easier to manufacture than a bunch of over banked pieces. Now in my opinion, getting a reccord setting coaster for a fraction of MF, is a great deal.

ok, I have one other comment to make about there possibly being something slightly more to this thing. From all the picture of this thing i've seen, it appears that the side with the break run is significantly highter than the launch side, which appeared to be a couple of feet off the ground. I don't think that there will be anything like a hill, or OB turn, and the breaks will shave off most of the momentum, but i can picture a helix, or double helix going in there, as a little extra bonus, if the breaks shave off all but 10mph, i don't see the train reachin much more than 25 when it leaves this, and will be able to be stopped by a much shorter break run.
like i said, i've not seen the construction in person, and do know how large of a height distance there is, and I'm probably just wishing for something more.

Completely unrelated--If those truss things in the parking lot don't you thing this thing will be an even bigger eyesore? You've got a yellow tower supporting red and white track with a silver elevator going up the middle of it.

One thing is for sure their waiting for more supports. Also the aluminium supports that are sitting in the parking lot are for the top of the tower. When their done installing the big yellow supports. rulethesky316 said:
You people are whack if you think CP is just buiding a L TH B coaster just because the footers aren't there yet. They just started building. Look at the pics in the Two Towers sections. There are track pieces with a support connection on the inside of the curve, meaning one thing, a hill. I highly doubt that these pieces would be at the top of the TH. And those huge supports with connections facing every which way, they remind me of MF when the tracks pass on both sides of the supports. I think that the ride will be much longer with some hills and banked turns. CP could always lay more footers later on. Come on guys, you give up so soon. CP has all winter to keep building and a few tricks up their sleeves I'm sure.

One more thing, those silver cages, they look like pieces of a stage or something.

Why are these top supports turned though? I dont understand why it is doing that. http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/c5d9379c/bc/Yahoo!+Photo+Album/__hr_attraction435.jpg?bcvwru9AJYZkQ37x
read some of the other threads, thats what we're discussing ;)
Could the track on the left side of the tower be positioned in such a way that the coaster would come down from the top doing a funny corkscrewish roll at the crown? So essentially that would give the tophat an inverted element on one half, while on the first half being launched and curving over like Xcelerator does non-invertedly.
To amend my last comment, it would not twist like others have suggested. The twist would occur further down from the top, but where I'm suggesting the change in direction would occur as the train would just start to exit the crown.
It looks like all of the twisted track right now is pretty much flat (non-sloped), with the exception of two pieces that are just barely sloped up and just barely twisted (which would be for the pullup and pullout). The way you are describing it, it sounds like there would need to be sloped twisting pieces.

"Meh."
Wicked twists: 11
Danger: Hgih Voltage!

Look.. the 2 lines of footers match up exactly to the two sides of the tower. I think when we finally see pics of the last weekend everyone will start to realize that its not going to be more than a one trick coaster. Thaang is.. its trick is 400+ feet in the air.. so theres absolutely nothing wrong with that! Would you rather them get a 150 foot floorless clone that you could ride at numerous other parks in the USA. I sure dont!

http://listen.to/panicattack

This thing is gonna do something crazy at the top of the hill.
we now have the final pictures in, and i hate to say it guys, but it looks like its just gonna be a simple L TH B ride. I think that we might get a little thing at the top but i dont know what but we will just have to see how things advance this week. i think that they have construction planned that whatever other element that they might have on the ride will get here this week. but who knows. they could actually pull through here and give us more than that. we will just have to wait and see.
I just don't buy the argument that the brakes are there to slow down the ride to do more elements. What would be the point of building so high to have to tone it down to do more? The thrill is going to be the launch. That's all!
Dennis, I took this picture today. It's a Sloped Semi-twisting piece. It's a start to your theory. This Picture. Anyway - I have more pictures posted at http://www.itsjustabuck.com/pics/2003/ if you guys wanted to see more. I am honesltly Starting to believe the 2 launched rumor someone started... Zero-G mentioned in another thread the launch pieces are labeled T-1 through T-14 , in this white piece of launch track, it said T-97... I think the park is trying to throw us off with the white on the tower. I think that track will come down sooner or later & be placed somewhere else....
Did someone actually start off a post saying "You are whack" Holy bad 80s rap lingo Batman
