There is still hope in this world

A little background, I went to CP on last Sunday.  We left Michigan around 7 a.m, the gates opened at 12 that day. So on the way there we convinently made a stop at the casino on the way.  Lady luck was with me that morning and I hit 300 dollars from the craps table.  So after two hours, we got to the point and whatnot.  Well during the day, I always have to hit the arcade and play Galaga and normaly set the high score around 220,000-250,000.  So after that I left the arcade and about two hours later I went to check my wallet and noticed it was missing.  My heart SANK, 460 dollars was washed away.  I went to the lost and found and no one found my wallet.  So in a way it almost ruinned my day.  Well today I get home and got a letter from CP, my wallet was found and I recieved a check for 466.00 dollars and Kensels little red stamp signiture!!!  I was shocked, I have to seriously question weither or not to keep that kind of money if I found it.  I've never lost my wallet in the almost 10 years of having one.  Today I was a bit surprised and joyed that their is still a few good people on this earth that would pass up the money and do the right thing.  I will be writing CP a thank you letter tonight.
Another sign of the total class that CP and CF has..

Funny thing is my buddy lost his Red Wings hat autograph by Chris Chelos on the Wildcat.  The ride ops were nice about it, said come back after close and will look for it.  Came back didn't find it, said that they would search in the morning when the checked the ride.  So we went to lost in found filled out forms.  I recieved the loot, my buddy still didn't get his hat.  Of course going on a roller coaster with a hat is dumb....but then again so is going to the park with 400 dollars.  But yes if anyone of the employess in the arcade who found my wallet is lurking on this site.  Thank you much.  Now I don't have to starve for a week and lesson was learned.

On my very first trip to Cedar Point, we found a woman's pocketbook laying in the parking lot.  We had gone out to the car to grab some food out of the cooler we packed, and it was laying on the ground about 5 or 6 parking spots away from our vehicle.  We promptly returned it to the main gate, cuz yes.. there are still honest people out there, myself included.
That's Cedar Point for ya. :)

Smaller potatoes, certainly...
But I'll bet you can still leave your cooler on the picnic table all morning long and not lose anything before lunch.

Cedar Point still has an unexpectedly genteel atmosphere. What a cool story!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
In 1987, we went to Cedar Point and my friend lost his wallet on a water ride, Thunder Canyon I believe.  A few days later, he received a very wet wallet in the mail with his ID and all the money it it (about 50 dollars).  He was extremely happy.  Just goes to show you the class act that Cedar Point is.

Imagine the same situation at SixFlagsWOA, you wouldn't even see that wallet again.

Ok, I might cut on Six Flags for some of the operational problems they have but there is no need to cut on their employees by saying they would keep your wallet.

Are you saying that CP hires more honest people than SFWOA?  That is ridiculous.  I think the folks above got lucky and the same luck could happen at SFWOA.

This kind of thing would NEVER happen at the Mountain.

How cool is CP?

And YOU guys RAWK!

I'm back in So. Cal now.  MISSING CP & MF!

Now I have an even HIGHER level of respect for CP and the parks regulars . . .

I would definitely say that CP really does put in a very good effort to find missing articles.  A major ride like Magnum would have at least a couple trackwalks throughout the day where we go out and look for lost articles under the ride.  If someone loses something like a wallet or glasses, we tried to make an effort to go out there even quicker.  Not everything is found, but if something is lost, there is probably a much better than 50% chance that an employee will find it and turn it in to lost and found.  Non-valuable articles such as hats, sunglasses, etc are kept at the ride until the end of the night while more important things such as wallets, keys, etc are usually turned into lost and found right away.

The most important thing I've ever witnessed lost was $2,100 in an envelope that fell out of a guy's pocket in the Magnum train.  Someone gave it to us and before we could even log it or call lost and found, the guy realized it was gone and came back to get it.  Needless to say, he was relieved and grateful and I think he learned not to carry that much money around. :)

Since you almost lost the money, you're going to share your luck with a charity like the Red Cross, right?

...maybe it's just the greedy teen in me, but I'd probably put it back in the bank or spend it...:)
