Theory about rides breaking down...

I think the rides breaking down so much this season is...wait for it...Spiral's Revenge. You just don't mess with the heart and soul of Cedar Point. So much has been done to ruin, taint, and whore out the park. You really didn't expect something? And Disaster Transport and Western Cruise are probably pissed off too.

Spiral's Revenge sounds like a good Halloweekend Attraction.

I don't know if they tainted the park though. Improved the park maybe. GateKeeper is a pretty nice ride. I liked to ride Disaster Transport and when the spiral was open I would ride it. Wasn't very reliable either. My first trip to Cedar Point was in 87 or 88. I wish the trees where all still there, miss Wildcat, Paddlewheel. But the park has greatly improved since then. The spiral had to be taken out sometime. If you consider what the park was like before magnum you can see the magnitude of the improvements made.

People, can we please just STOP discussing space spiral? It's gone, move on. Like I have said before, somewhere, when an old crappy ride is still at the park always with a walk-on, no one rides it and they say "the park should remove it" then, when it's actually removed, people want it back. I know the routine.

Well, I would say the Space Spiral was a little more iconic than Super Himalaya, which is seen at just about every county fair.

Parts on the rides will ware out after while. Rides are like your vehicle the parts on the rides needs replacing & or repaired to keep them running. When a ride breaks down it means something is broken. Some of the rides at cedar point are getting old so therefore more chnces of the rides breaking down. Yes i have seen rides at cedar point breaking down more this year while I have been hitting the park just about every weekend.

Rides break down.....it happens.

It's kind of like the car. You reach a certain mileage and a bunch of stuff wears out. You repair it all and then you get a certain amount of time trouble free afterward. Either that or they only moved the headstones...
