The other mystery solved is the purpose for the short wall around the final turn. It appears that this thing will have extensive theming, so the final turn will resemble a race track, including wall and protective fence that hangs over the track.
I gotta say that while this is probably most simple design I've ever seen in a coaster, it's probably one of the most appropriately themed ones. How else can you wrap up a relatively short coaster ride to make it enticing and attractive? Theme it after the shortest racing out there, drag racing. The whole package from station, tower christmas tree, surounding area, and the best part - the trains - are all beautiful and I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Kudos to the P&D dept for such an interesting design and theme!!

Also I think in the Diary or Q and A they said that the catwalks would be for maintenance (torquing bolts, etc).
All in all it appears as though CP has finally pulled off a brilliantly themed ride! :)
