Theming - is that going to be what I think it's go

Anyone check out the animations yet? Well, I think we finally have a reason for all the catwalks to nowhere on the tower. It appears that giant lights will be installed on each level. These lights will turn on in synch with a smaller set of lights at the "starting line". That's right, the tower is a giant christmas tree.

The other mystery solved is the purpose for the short wall around the final turn. It appears that this thing will have extensive theming, so the final turn will resemble a race track, including wall and protective fence that hangs over the track.

I gotta say that while this is probably most simple design I've ever seen in a coaster, it's probably one of the most appropriately themed ones. How else can you wrap up a relatively short coaster ride to make it enticing and attractive? Theme it after the shortest racing out there, drag racing. The whole package from station, tower christmas tree, surounding area, and the best part - the trains - are all beautiful and I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Kudos to the P&D dept for such an interesting design and theme!!

Wow, I never thought about those lights on the tower being a christmas tree... but now I see... if that really is the case it will be amazing! I hope they have that "beeping" sound for the countdown to launch...

Also I think in the Diary or Q and A they said that the catwalks would be for maintenance (torquing bolts, etc).

All in all it appears as though CP has finally pulled off a brilliantly themed ride! :)

The whole thing is a big light tower. Thats why its painted yellow!

Thats going to look cool at night.

The lights on the 420' tower, counting down to "go," is one of the neatest parts of the ride. Very, very cool.

I think the most interesting aspect of the theming to me is the fact that "racing" in general was the niche to build around. Just goes to show you what Nascar and other forms of competitive racing is doing to America..Slowly becoming the most watched Sport.

Nice Job CP coming up with a theme that makes you feel as if your truly part of a drag race!

I Met Brittney! Shes SOOOOOO Cool!

Even the short ride plays in well with the themeing. CP did really good with this and I love the tower/Christmas Tree idea. Who says CP can't theme a ride? (it may have been me, I can't remember, lol)
i dont think they can make the tower a chrismas tree. all the multi colored lights would confuse airplanes. faa might not approve it.
I think as long as there are red beacon lights at the very top, it shouldn't be a problem.
Bolton. . . I don't know if you were being sarcastic or what . . . but they don't mean an actual Christmas tree design with lots of multicolored lights. . . hehe I am sure you know this, I am just making sure. . .

"Uhhh I don't think my restraint is supposed to move like this. . ."

This think will kick ass at night. The flags, the giant christmass tree lights, the bleachers, the winners circle, everything kicks ass with this ride. YOU MADE UP FOR THE SHORT RIDE CP!!! I tip my hat to you!

As one of the people who posted in several places about the disappointment that this ride is only L-TH-B, I have to admit that the extrordinary theming on this ride plays perfectly into the track layout. It's so obvious now: In drag racing, you get in your car, move into the staging (launch) area, wait for the green light, mash your foot into the throttle and go like crazy until you hit the brakes at the end. Any other elements to the ride would have taken away from this theme.

It really has begun to grow on me since this morning.
