Theme park engineering class at BG

[url][url]Someone sent me this link in an email today, I figured some people here would be interested in it. Bowling Green is offering a summer class (it looks like it's online) about theme park engineering. If I went to BG I would definitely jump all over this class. Anyhoo, here's the link.

Looks like a found a class to take when I make my way to BGSU in the next year or so.

This university offers some of the most obscure majors, minors, and individual classes... Sounds like an interesting course though.. But since I have one year left here for my methods and student teaching, I am past the point of taking fun or interesting classes that are not related to my education degree...

Thanks for the info. My 13 year old son wants to be an engineer and design roller coasters. This might be fun for him to do online over the summer.

That's pretty cool. I had wanted to be a theme park engineer but did horribly in math and science, so....I figured I may not be the best person for the job. It would still be interesting though!

This is pretty cool, now if I go to BG I might have to take that class.

Caitlin

A few summers ago they had a class for middle school and high school students similar to that class. We talked to the higher-ups at the park (kinzel, and monty jasper) and got to see how they go about planning and helping to design the rides that come in. It was really interesting.

Now if only I went to BG....

It's funny, I'm kind of the opposite of Andrew. I've got almost all my classes out of the way, I'm just finishing a few for my major. But since they have to be taken in a certain order, I can only take about 3 classes a semester, so now is the time to load up on screw off classes. Next year I'm taking a SCUBA diving class, and a stick fighting class. College credit for hitting people with sticks. You gotta love it.

Yea, Bowling Green has a lot of cool, interesting, and fun classes. They have a Bowling class, imagine that.

Dont forget walking, curling, and meditation at BGSU too!

TPE is actually an excellent primer for anyone interested in what goes into designing and building an attraction today. I took the course about three years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although somewhat pricey (the regular fee is $299.00, currently they're having a summer special ,$199.00) I felt it was well worth it. This ol' veteran of the biz even learned a thing or to from it.
