The White Track

Has anybody thought about the significance of the white track section? It was one of the first sections to be mounted on the support columns. I feel that this detail should not be overlooked considering that nearly all other coasters have a uniform track color.

Well, it is interesting. I can't think of any real significance, especially considering its location on the tower.

Time will tell.

I think they will alternate red and white sections on the launch run to give the impression of even more speed. Kind of like looking at the white stripes on the road or at the guardrail posts as they whiz by.
I agree jdubya!
Just a wacky thought I had today...

Maybe the launch section will consist of mostly white track. As the train gets near the end of the launch it will first cross one piece of red track, then maybe three pieces of white track, another red piece, then two pieces of white track, then one more piece of white before going to solid red. That way it's like the red section "builds up" as the train nears, and pulls up into, the tophat.

Kinda fits with the whole drag racing / redline theory I suppose.

interesting...

Whatever there gonna do there's gonna be some kinda alternating between the colors. In the parking lot theres both a red and a white piece of track that is part of the launch section.

As for this whole red-white alternating track, anyone noticed that there are no white twists? Wouldn't one at least be required to complete the twist over the top of the tower?

Not if the white track is just on the launch portion. The white track up there now may be what is the last white track on the launch side. Jdubya (earlier in thread) speaks of the white track giving the sense of more speed.
Which makes sense.

I think something along the lines of Redline is a good guess...
I think it goes along with the racing theme-if you have ever watched a Formula 1 Race-look at the turns or chicanes, they are red and white alternating.

That was my theory from acn. YOU STOLE IT!
BAH!
jk

I think that was the general concensus, at least of most people, when the two track colors were first discovered.

I think that the white track will just be the launch.

Too little track for the launch.

As of now, there has been no launch track on site. That track has an area in the middle of it that has a place for the launch sled to run through. Since they already have alternating tracks up, I'm sure that the begininng of the ride will alternate...make it look like you're going warp speed.

nice

Warp speed? sounds fun.!
Originally, I was thinking that the alternating colors were wierd, but from seing the webcam it look good. It will add tremendously to the feeling of speed.

The launch track is on site. Virtual midway had plenty of pics of them. Plus some with the track for the launch sled partially installed.

It's fairly certain that the launch will alternate just like the pull out. You can see some of the launch sections sitting on the ground from the power tower cam. And they all seem to be alternated.

Take a look at the date of CP_bound's post - it was 10/23, before we knew that the launch track was on site (which was 10/25).
