The wait

Hey i am goin to cedar point on may 30 which i a friday. What do you think would be the best time to ride? we will probablyu get there 30 mins after the park opens and will be leaving around 6. When will the best time to ride be and how long do you think the wait will be at that time.

Also how long do u think the wait will be for others?

Thanks

4 hours is the standard answer. But it usually less, from what I have heard and read.

I am going Friday also, and am hoping to get on TTD but refuse to wait more than 2 hours. Any word on a 5 train op since it is the big M weekend? I hope it isnt too packed and if it is i think the waits for everything else should be decent.
The queue forecast for Friday, May 30 clearly states that at 10:00 AM, the line for Top Thrill Dragster will be 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 42 seconds. That time would be best to ride Wicked Twister, because the line will only be 8 minutes and 12 seconds at that time. The problem is 52 people will be entering from the Beach entrance so by 10:06 the line will have reached 27 minutes.

The best thing to do would be to go through the Marina entrance, because Millennium Force will begin testing around 8:37 that morning so if you get to the gate by 9:00, you will only have to wait behind 3 other people.

The main entrance will be backed up behind the ticket booth from 8:42 until 9:54. If you plan on entering through the main gate get there before 7:48 because the first person will be arriving at 7:51.

So basically, use the Marina entrance.

When the park opens, run to Millennium Force, because the employees will just have finished testing it and no one will be in line, except for Howard Tracy. Tell him you've never been on the ride and really really want to sit in the front row. He'll let you in and you'll be able to sit in the front row.

Unfortunately, by the time you get to the station the ride will have broken down due to a rollback going up the second hill. Because of this, you should go ride Iron Dragon because it will just be opening at 9:06.

After Iron Dragon, head to the back of the park, because the line for Meanstreak will only be 4 and a half minutes and it will be running brakeless. Don't get in line because the person in front of you will puke and they will have to clean the seats.

At 10:26 the Mine Ride will open, so ride that.

After that, it will be 10:38 and you should head over to Gemini. It's only going to be running the red train so skip it. Magnum won't open until 11:32 because of the ride op not waking up in time.

Anyway, at around 3:49, head over to Dragster. The line will have died down because at that point most people will have already ridden it. Once you get in line though, there will be a rollback and you will have to wait an extra 7 minutes for them to fix it.

Get out of line and leave the park.

LOL at the post by Top Thrill Dragster. That was very good and I think an excellent answer to the age old question of how long will the lines be?

Haha, thanks. You know I could really expand on that, but I'll save that for next time. ;)

Life is too short...go ride a coaster!!

I was there on saturday the 17th. I thought at that time there WERE 5 trains...black, purple, green, red, and blue. maybe i'm wrong. anyway, the best time to get in line is when it's broken down. we got in line when it was 31/2 hours long and the ride was broken down. people got mad and left and we only waited about 2 hours so that seemed to work out well. the rest of the day the line was between 4-5 hours long. good luck to ya
I was at Cedar Point last weekend, including Friday. The wait on Friday was about 3 hours. You should ride it anyway. Of the few times I rode it the posted wait time said the line would be 4 hours when infact it was less than 3. Maybe they like to overexaggerate the wait time.

too bad you can't stay past 6...

i haven't even been on ttd yet, but i would recommend getting in line right before the park closes. even if there is a long wait, it won't matter because every other ride will be closed. i know that on mille, they always let everyone ride as long as they entered the line before the park officially closed. hopefully, the same applies to dragster. plus, you would get to experience the ride at night, which always adds a little excitement!

May 30 is my birthday. Haha.
Jake, as of right now, your wait is approximately 165 hours, give or take a couple hours. I suggest you check back occasionally for an updated wait time. Just remember that this is only an estimate, but when you're waiting this long, what's a couple more hours anyway?
Well I don't know how long the line will be but I do have some suggestions of what to bring with.

Sleeping Bag, a t.v. so if you find an outlet, maybe a radio just incase you need some contact with the outside world,so learn morse code, the Bible, definitely get a bunch of food and drinks, so have a lot of pockets in those pants, and some asprin or some type of medicine from keeping you from going insane. And maybe a pillow. ;)

Also, be sure to bring a back supporter allowing you to lean back while you're wating in line long after the park closes, so you can fall asleep without falling over. It has to have a little platform for you to stand on, and wheels underneath.

And while you're at it, you might want to invent a thingy that will move you're little contraption, powered by motion sensors. Set it so that if there is no motion, it goes forward, until it gets within 6 feet of an object, when it begins to slow down. Once it's 6 inches away, it comes to a complete stop.

If you don't feel like inventing this stupid contraption, just bring along a can of Millennium Force, which should keep you up for a little while longer.

How did you find that Millenium Force drink Top Thrill Dragster?
Ok here's the deal. They say the wait is 4 hours, all the time, but I went to CP this last week and here's how it goes. If the line ends at those.. two or three soda machines, the wait is aprox. 2 hours. And Jake. There is no BEST time to ride it, just ride it whenever it's open. I spent four days at the park and they opened the coaster at 2 pm every single day. Just get in line whenever it's up and running, that's the best time.
TUBster, I wanted to see if someone had made a site called www.millenniumforce.com (about the roller coaster), becuase if there wasn't, I was going to the make one. So I just typed in www.millenniumforce.com and that's what I found!

Yeah since you're not staying till the park closes, there really isn't a best time. The last time I was there (Friday), they had the line moving pretty good. My wait started at the pop machines and I waited about 1.5 hours to get to the station, plus another half hour for the front. This also included a 10 minute breakdown. Unless it's really packed that day, you probably won't wait more than 3 hours.
