The last time I visited they were regulating the amount of people in Magnum's station, but they could even make it a little less. What they were doing was filling it (not jammed like it usually is but comfortably full) and then they would let it empty before repeating the cycle. Even that was an improvement.
djDaemon, I can imagine what a tough time you had with that! Unfortunately, I don't think people understand that they won't be waiting any longer.
I would vote for having groupers at every coaster, but if it came down to having a grouper at the station or shutting down rides due to a lack of employees I'd vote to keep the rides open.
Thrills Around the Corner!
I was there twice this week. One day when I went there was noone at crowd position and everyone sat where they wanted. Then the other day I went and there was someone there, and the station was packed. He asked how many people were with me, I said 1, and he pointed me towards the back. I told him that I wanted to get closer to the front, and saying nothing, he pointed me back there. He did not need to handle me like that . I was very annoyed with the MF crew that day and I hope that that never happens again.

^Unless you want to wait for the front seat, you have to take what's available.

That's not necessarily the case. If there's noone in the crowd position then you can go wherever you want. There were other seats available other than towards the back. My point is that the employees in did not need to be like that with me.
I was there May 6th and 7th and they did the two in each row except the front car and the back car. Then I was there on August 16th and 17th and I realized that they changed it to everyone goes up on the station until it gets full, like the Magnum.
Basically to sum everything up, here are my observations from Monday and Tuesday. On Millennium, the station would get packed when ride ops would rotate positions. In Magnum, there was sometimes a person regulating. On Dragster there was someone regulating at one point (first time I've ever seen it.) The other time there was not and I waited for a few trains to leave before I moved in. No one said anything to me.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I actually love how packed Maggie's station usually runs. Because of the angled leading (front) side, the line for the front seats hides much shorter lines for the 2nd and 3rd cars. I always make a beeline for those seats, unless I specifically want to wait for the very front. But I guess most people on this site know about this little trick. :)

I actually enjoy it when the station is not packed. Nothing like waiting all that time in line and when you get to the station you are next to ride. I hate getting to the station and waiting another 30 minutes.
That's true too. It's just that if the apparent on the platform looks like 20 minutes and that's the baseline you're dealing with, then cutting it to 10 or 12 minutes is (relatively) sweet.

When I went with my girlfriend on the 25th and 26th, they were only crowding the station one day, this was on the 26th. The other times that I went on it, Millennium Force had someone doing crowd control. I really don't mind them letting a couple train loads in at a time, in fact I love it. Millennium Force is my favorite coaster. I hope next year they change this. With Regular operation ending after labor day, and certain rides being open, I'm sure they'll have more people running Millennium Force.
On September third: Magnum, Twister, Dragster all had people running crowd control. (I think Raptor did, but I don't remember for sure.)
Millennium did not. I only rode it after closing, so I don't know what it was like all day. About 11, the line suddenly jumped forward more than normal, so I'm guessing they pulled the person on crowd control then.
If the wait for Millennium is over half an hour, I think they need to load one train at a time. With the station packed, I've seen more empty seats than if they load one train at a time. Loading more seats means shorter wait times for everyone. *** Edited 9/4/2006 11:27:26 PM UTC by 0g***
^^ I think that's why CP gets the capacity award too. They ensure that all the seats are filled on each train. (minus when people are thrown off because they are unable to fit) Most of the other parks I've been to (like Six Flags) flood the station and send out trains that are not full. That kills their capacity. So, even though the park is less crowded than Cedar Point, you end up waiting longer because of awful capacities.
