The shows at Cedar Point for 2008

I figured since they only have a few shows left to open I would go ahead and post my opinions of the shows for 2008 (so far).

Country Unleashed (Red Garter)
As I mentioned in my trip report I do enjoy this show, I think the skill of the performers are better than I have ever seen, and the smaller cast I think makes for a much tighter show. I just wish they could have chosen some better songs. There are lots of country songs that I would have chosen over the ones that they did. But still a great show, the best in the park!

Molly and Maverick (Palace Theater)
This show is returning from last year, although with an entire new cast, and truthfully I really liked last years show better. I think that the new cast is not as good as the one from last year, though I do like the Molly better than last year. Also they changed the story line slightly:

Molly is no longer pretending to be a dancer, she comes in and announces that she is a bounty hunter.

I am pretty sure they changed it because they added a song (which I did not really like very much) and to make it fewer costume changes. In the entire show there are only something like 4 or 5 costume changes between 3 characters.
Over all I liked this show last year A LOT better, but will probably see it a few more times just to make sure I did not catch a fluke.

All Wheels Extreme (Extreme Stadium)
This was a nice show, there is so much going on that you almost have to see it multiple times to make sure you can catch everything. I really liked the music but I wish there had been some bigger stunts. The stage actually looks really good, it fits in really well over the old tank. It seems that the stage is smaller than I thought they would need for a show like this, which may be why the tricks don't go so big. The gymnasts on the trampolines were great, and the little skit with the "fan" was very funny.
All in all a great show, and a great use of the stadium. One that I will be returning to see.

All in all I think the shows so far this year are not as good as they were last year. But they are all entertaining and for someone who has not seen them before really good. I did hear a few people as I left the Molly and Maverick show say it was really good and they enjoyed it so the show did what it was supposed to.
