the queue

Just a note here on the queues for the force. The Force queue was designed to hold a 3 hour wait. The rumor is a certain CEO does not like the portable queues, like Raptor uses, and wanted a big queue. To make the queue situation bigger the queues are wider than the traditional queues so that guests with wheelchairs wait in line with everyone else. There is a ramp leading to the loading platform, and while the rider is riding thier chair will be pushed over to the unload station.

Wish I could say more. ;)

So, Dan, its safe to say...Millennium Force has the longest queue in the park, next to MeanStreaks.....

The portable queue rails are ugly. I've never seen them in use on Power Tower or Raptor though.

So I guess within a few years we can expect to see a half empty queue like the on Mean Streak and the overflow queue on Magnum (behind the potties).

When ridership drops, some of the queues will probably be removed. Wasn't this the case with the backside queues on Magnum last year?

No... they're still there, but I don't recall them being used any time I was there last year. Maybe on July 4. I don't remember.

when I was there last, it was the last weekend in August when they close at midnight and they use them then...It was a very crowded day.
The queues of Raptor on that photo are temp queues? Isnt that what all the queues look like?

In that photo, the "real" queue starts under the dark awning. What you see in the photo are the temporary barricades...notice the flat metal plates that sit on the ground? The permanent queueing area does not have those plates as the poles are sunk directly into the pavement.

I have a question, please don't flame me if the answer is somewhere else. In the queue, what is the larger, greenish looking thing? Is it more cover? vending machines? DJ? Whaqt?
I thought it was where the on-ride photo will be mounted, but it's probably the same awning they have for Power Tower's vending machines. So it's probably for the vending machines.
One of my biggest pet peeves is standing in line in the blazing sun. I like the idea of the sprinkler fans that magnum and power tower have, but i would love to have some shade....maybe some trees or an awning like mean streak. But not just over the last 5 minutes either...

The canopies cover a high percentage of the queue, but because of the wall along Perimeter Rd., they could really stand to have the misty fans out there.
