The park should still be open

I think the point should have staied open longer due to the very mild winter.  They could have been making a lot of money!  I know I would be up there riding the force.  What does everyone else think?

How on God's green earth can you predict what winter will be mild vs. severe?

What does the park do - put potential employees on retainer "just in case" a particular winter is mild?

It's a seasonal park. Always has been, probably always will be due to the fact of the unpredictable weather of the great state of Ohio.

Yea, I'm fairly amazed that they can stay open as long as they do.  A great deal of the summer workers leave around the end of August.  Some come back for the weekends, but for most of them it isn't practical to make the trip.  There were an insane number of ride prides there the last weekend as it was.

I know ah?

A couple days ago it hit almost 60degrees! It was also snowing (alittle) the last halloweekend, but it was much colder than a couple days ago!

But hey, you never know how the weather's gunna be........so if the park decided that they would have an extra weekend open, they would have to print it on the offical park schedule before the park even opens fort the season and God controls of the weather these days, so they might be doomed!

We can always hope global warming turns Sandusky into Miami.  But then that would make Florida too hot and all of the tourists would come to Ohio :)

Maybe they should leave ski resorts open during the summer just in case a blizzard roles in.

Not to forget that most of the employee's are from college and such..so there would be hardly anyone there to run it.

Nobody said it had to make sense.  I wish it were open too.  I would be cold but loving it.  There may be no employees or open bathrooms.   I might get frostbite, but so what?  Just one ride on something fast.  Not to much to ask.  I'd pay money for one ride on MF.  Put one train on for one saturday.   Worth $20 bucks for four hours of riding.  Probably would get 100 or so people.   The down side is that it probably costs them more than that to prep the ride.
