Has anybody noticed that that little strip of land between Frontier Town and Johnson's Island has gotten bigger and now has trees? I, and others, used to go to the Confederate cemetery on Johnson's Island. Many years ago you could see directly across to Frontier Town. Now, that sand bar or whatever it is has grown along with all those trees. There were no trees before. Climate change, maybe?
Just normal sandbar growth due to silt deposit. Nature will establish itself when given the opportunity.
The Huron River under Route 2 has been changing over the past 20 years. 20 years ago there was no 'island' in it. Now the island is so huge and the river flow around it has resulted in some homes/houses being lost on the western edge/shore.
