The Order

I was just wondering, in which order do you usually ride the coasters? If its random, then what do you ususlly go for first, and last.

I start my day with Wicked Twister. A kick from the launch gets me pumped up. Then I ride a variety jumble of rides. After lunch, I always ride Raptor. I usually end my day with a ride on Iron Dragon or Millennium Force, depending on the lines.

First off I ride Raptor, then i proceed to Power Tower, ride that a couple of times. Then go on to Magnum, then to Gemini, then Mean Streak, White Water Landing, then go to MF to get my hand Stamped. And then after that, its just what i feel like doing
I always rode Magnum, Power Tower, and WT while the crowds were still all over by MF. Typically Magum would be deserted in the morning.

Although that strategy might change with TTD where it is now. I don't the early morning ERT on Power Tower and Magnum will be in effect anymore.

What is the early morning ERT on Power Tower Magnum???
i meant Power Tower and Magnum.
(Brennan, edit..edit!!) I don't have a particular order, just whatever I feel like at the moment. Millennium Force is a favorite at night, however.

I always jump right in line for MF when I get to the park. After that it's all a matter of line length. My friends and I will wander around and if we see a line under an hour for Mantis, Raptor, Magnum, PT or WT, we'll hop in. Then we always hop in MF's line about 30 min before the park closes so we can get a night ride in.

-life without danger is a waste of oxygen-

Magnum or Millie have started my day for the past three years (when I arrive in the morning). However, with the opening of TTD, I see myself adding a new ride the list. I always like to make the first ride of the year on a big one. If there's a new coaster, certainly that will be the one.

MF (joe cool), then Mean Streak, CC Mine Ride, Gemini, Magnum, Corkscrew, (power tower), Wicked Twister, Disaster Transport, Raptor, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, Mantis.. Then another trip around the park. At night I usually pick up Woodstock express and I always try to finish the night by being one of the last to ride MF (again).

Of course, the path changes from time to time. What is listed above is just my "speed" course. I can usually follow that path and have fairly short lines because the crowds generally start at the front of the park and work towards the back.

I own you!

Usually the first thing is MF for ERT, then Raptor, Twister, and Magnum. Afterwards, it's Soak City for 4-6 hours! The only difference this summer will be riding the Top Thrill Dragster first. Can't wait!!!!!!! :)

2 combo season passes-$270, parking pass-$30, CP memories with my daughter-priceless!!!

My pattern of the last few years has been to start and finish the day on Raptor. (Same goes for the opening and ending rides of the season.) I typically bounce around one area of the park at a time. Usually after starting my day on Raptor, I'll bounce between WT and Blue Streak a few times. This is guaranteed ride time with hubby, who generally disappears when I head toward any coaster over 200' tall.

Then I'll head to another area of the park and catch Iron Dragon, Millie, and Mantis (Mantis really depends on the line because I don't like it enough to wait in such long lines. If I can't get on within 30 min., I'll wait until the next time I come up.)

Then I'll bounce around CCMR, Gemini, Corkscrew, and Maggie for a while. Then I'll hit the buckets (Sky Ride for those outside my family) for a nice rest, along with the CP&LE RR. Throw in some flats, and I've pretty much spent my day.

With Dragster, only opening day will change, and then only slightly. I plan to get in one ride early, then go about my day as usual.

Is it May yet?!? (BTW, we're incredibly spoiled to have CP in our collective backyard. Coastering anywhere else just isn't the same.)

------------------
My need for speed is second only to my need to be inverted! No wonder Raptor is my favorite!

With regards to Raptor, I have found the best time to ride is around the 4:00-6:00 period in the evening. It seems to me that most people run to the first thing they see, which is Raptor. We have a pretty good system of hitting Twister, Millie Force, then running to the back of the Park with Mean Streak, and Maggie, and working our way up towards the front, while most people are headed back towards us.

Typically in the past, the majority of the crowds would rush to either Raptor or MF. Leaving Magnum and Power Tower deserted for a good hour or so.

I remember one morning when I rode Magnum about 5 times and the station still wasn't full.

With TTD that probably won't be as true, due to the increase of people in the area. Not to mention people funneling off TTD and onto Magnum.

Although the lines should be more balanced throughout the park. MF probably will have a smaller line, which is a good thing.

I usually end up going to raptor first and then make my way through the park in some random order. I always seem to ride Millennium at night and I always have to get the front seat!
In the past few years, I think that riding PT and then Maggie several times has been the best. From there i would continue down the trail and ride the coasters in the back. I would hit up the FreeWay line for MF. After this I would go to WT and possibly Raptor. It wasn't too difficult to ride all of the coasters before noon (excluding MF because I would have to wait for the time my stamp said and Mantis because of the low capacity).

This year with the addition of Dragster, I believe that if you start at MF you'll be able to get several rides in before an hour goes by. Getting a ride in on Mantis early also whouldn't be a problem. Once again, working around the Frontier Trail would probably be best if you want to hit up all the coasters early. Be sure to make it over to Dragster at 11:00 or a little after so you'll be able to get a FreeWay stamp to ride it sometime during the day.

From this point, you're on your own. :) My specialty is the morning hours because after that who knows what can happen as far as crowds go. I do have to back up Mikey about riding Raptor in the early afternoon hours though. You can get a ride in by only waiting 15 minutes of less.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

Raptor's always first, and usually hop in MF's line 10-15 minutes before closing time to get the most time in the park. Those night rides on Millenium looking out on a virtually empty park are pretty nice. I have ended a few days with consecutive WT rides when the lines were virtually walk up at the end of the night.

Did you ever see WT with a wait of over 1 hour??? I think I recall about once, but that was it, it was usually 30 mins

It always seemed to me that the ride op working at the entrance to WT would have the sign saying an hour longer than it really was, and this was like every day I went. One day the sign said 2 hours, and it was about 45 minutes, the longest I've seen it. I think it scared some GP away because I heard a lot of people saying "I'm not waiting 2 hours for this ride", and I'd just laugh. Anybody else notice this, or am I crazy?

I'd say that the sign in front on Wicked Twister was long by at least 15 minutes most times I was there.
