The old pirate ride building

Would anyone else like to see it replaced? It is just so vacant over there. I know they have a haunt there during Halloweekends, but that midway just seems kind of vacant. I would like to see new life over there.

Hopefully NEW darkride life.

Is there any old remaining aspects of the Pirate Ride inside? That would be so cool to see... wonder what it looks like now.

I think an island of green space in the center of that midway with some trees for shade would be nice. I doubt there is anything left in the building.

It really is an eye sore. They could definitely find another place to hold TL meetings and put height sticks and stuff. I would love to see it gone with a nice visible entrance to Blue Streak

I wasn't aware of a haunt but they could always move the Boo Hill funhouse into the Dodgem's (correct me if I am wrong) like they used to.

The Zoltar fortune telling machine in front of the CP coliseum's arcade told me that we'll be getting our wish in the next year or so. Stay tuned...

Most of the building is used for warehouse and distribution for the Park Services department.

Couldn't agree more! Cedar Fair always says that they don't do dark rides as they do not know how to properly market them...Is it that hard? You can build a 400 foot roler coaster but you cannot harness the creative energy necessary to describe a well themed dark adventure?

Well, they do dark rides now, look at Canada's Wonderland Guardian.

I was always under the assumption that was Kinzel's attitude. Looks like it's changing with the new guy.

I always wondered if security was a reason for having/not having a dark ride. Just seems like in today's world, especially during Halloweekends, you'd almost have to have a CP police crew monitoring the ride at all times to make sure nothing crazy was going on inside the building.

Not to sound dumb but what building is this? I can't figure out if it's the one where Zombie High School is or the one next to Chickie and Petes? I'm thinking it's the one next to Chickie and Petes... I only ride Blue Streak maybe once or twice a season, so I don't go over there often. It could definitely use some sprucing up.

Daniella, you are correct. The old pirate ride building is the shuddered up building between Blue Streak and Chickie and Petes.

What's so different about "today's world"? People have always, and will continue to do, acts of craziness. I'm certain security has nothing to do with why we have not seen a dark ride built at Cedar Point.

The answer is simple; it has never been at the top of the priority list of whomever was in charge of making the final call. This is not to say that there have not been individuals in employment who have not desired to see such a ride built at Cedar Point over the past decade before they retired. Perhaps that is now different. I would assume it is, especially with the new Guardian ride Pete alluded to.

You know you are in the right place, Daniella, when you look up and see cannons sticking out of a building for no reason. If I remember correctly, there is still a set at the top of one of the corners of the building.

I have yet to hear much about Wonder Mountain Guardian..

But if we don't get that I'll gladly take a Verbolten

The reviews of Guardian have been very positive, the vertical drop track section is said to be better than the drop track on Verbolten and the interactive parts are said to be very well done and fun.

If security and vandalism was an issue in the past, and it could have been as I've seen kids jump off the Pirate Ride vehicles and walk around in the ride building, don't modern dark rides have locking restraints so that won't be an issue?

Interesting..I'd love to see a POV but I doubt something will come out soon. Plus being interactive idk if we ever will see an official released. So far no idiots have posted self POV's.

I'll be trying Verbolten for the first time here in a few weeks, I'm very excited for it. CW later this summer. So I'll be happy to compare the two, they both sound awesome so I have high expectations for both
