The night before opening day...

No, this is not "What could happen the night before opening day?" or "Twas the night before opening day", but this is about hotels. I know the Radisson is open all year round so and I stayed at that one last year the night before opening day, but what about the other ones? I'm starting to make my plans for opening day and I'd like to stay at Breakers Express, because it's the cheapest.

For some reason, the official website isn't giving me much information on this, so has anyone stayed at a hotel different from the Radisson the night before opening day? Has anyone stayed at Breakers Express?

Thanks.

In previous years, all CP Resorts have been open on "Opening Night Eve." Try calling or emailing Accomadations

Actually, I don't think any of the CP resorts are open for opening weekend. They may be "open," but reserved for a buyout. I don't think this includes the Radisson, but I could be wrong. I'll probably try to find somewhere cheap (think Comfort Inn or Sleep Inn) to crash on the night of the third because driving out and back all in one day with the park in between is pushing it for me.

I'm pretty sure the Radisson will be open opening weekend, but the others....

Thank you. It looks like I'll be staying at the Radisson.

Hi,

The day before opening IS a buyout, for Longaberger (for the past 3 years, anyway) - so a lot of us stay onsite that evening.

KC

Sorry, when I reread my post, it WAS unclear. What I meant was, the day before the official opening is a buyout for the employees of Longaberger, and many of the employees and their families spend the night both Friday and Saturday onsite.

Its a company like "Home Interiors" and "Amway" that direct markets very expensive wicker baskets. The baskets are very nice but you do pay up for them. One of the admins at my office markets the darn things!

The Longaberger Company had a 5 year contract with Cedar Point for the buyout. They said last year that there would not be another Longaberger Day at Cedar Point. But from what people have told me they are having it again this season. You can click here TTD to see Longaberger. I used to work for them before I started at Cedar Point.

Ok, I just found out that they are having Longaberger Family Day. For sure!:)

I stayed at the Radisson last year the night before opening day. Fridays will be packed and so will the pool. The rates are also cheaper than they are during the summer of course. See you this year!
