The New Unimproved WT

Yes folks its true...if you havent heard by now the ride format has changed...now instead of front spike half, back spike whole, front spike whole, back spike whole, front spike half.....it is now (drumroll) front spike half, back spike barely half, front spike 3/4ths to whole, back spike 3/4ths to whole, front spike half....maybe it was just a fluke but this is how it was running all day yesterday, except for the short time it was down...however it has been down all day today (June 23)

What a freakin' disappointment! I am glad I got all those rides back on Media Day when it wasn't toned down! 3/4 up the back spike? Wow, not cool at all.

Praying this isn't how it's going to stay...

Wow, that sucks. Maybe the rumours about the problems they've had with the back spike cracking are true. I hope that the ride is returned to full power soon. If it is a problem with the design of the ride, Intamin better fix it fast.

Actually, WT began operating around 2:30 or 3:00 and was operating continuously up until I left at around 6:30. Yeah, the ride format has sadly changed, but it seemed to me that it went up the same height today on forward2 and backward2 as it did in May...the only real difference I saw was that backward1 only goes up halfway.

Ran great, with nothing unusual on Thursday....

Yes, the forward 2 and backward 2 go up to the same height as in May. Backward 1 is about the same height as forward 1 now. That's the only thing that's changed. My guess is that they reduced the backward height on backward 1 to ease the stress on the part of the ride that was having problems. If true, maybe Intamin wil do some reengineering for the off season and they can restore it to normal next year? Doesn't affect the ride too much IMHO.

I rode it on friday and it seemed to go up the back spike pretty good! That sucks for everyone else though. :(

The only difference I have noticed is that the LIM's don't fire the last time the train goes through the station towards the front spike. You can hear (as Rideman has pointed out I think) a buzz in the speakers in the que each time the LIM's fire. Not a loud buzz but a small one. So the frequency must be somewhere between 20Hz and 20KHz. Give or take some. After being there Sunday (June 23) WT was down part of the afternoon and evening, opened around 8ish, I would say it still has problems to be worked out. Also when the brakes are applied and you are slowing down after the front spike, there sometimes is a clanking noise you hear a couple times. (Yeah not the best description). I don't recall that on Media Day.

I was there as well yesterday (23rd), and it was up at around 2:15. I wouldn't know if there was any difference in it because that was my first time riding it, but the ride sure did pack a punch. One of my top coasters ever. We ended up riding it 3 times. BTW does anyone know what happened to it?

I will state now after watching the ride up close that it is going the normal height on forward and back pass 2....however...i am almost sure that in may the ride went almost all the way up on backwards shot, and the past few times ive seen it it hasnt...however that may have just been temporary....as far as it being open on the 23rd...sorry that i didnt see it open...I work at ripcord and its sometimes hard to see the status of the ride...except for when im walking to my car or on break...well I am riding tommorow...so i will give everyone an update then...did i mention im happy to hear my MF music again...haha

It's true that they have toned down the first launch up the back spiral. At the beginning of the season, it went nearly to the top. Now the back seat barely makes it above the supports. It has been like this for a couple days. However, this doesn't effect the ride at all because you still make it most of the way up the back spiral on the second time.
