The New Screamscape Rumour

You guys thought the Idea for dueling B&M Flyers was crazy? The newest rumour brought to us by the wonderfull site that is screamscape says that there is talk of a New 500 ft. B&M Flyer. Remember, Kinzel wants to go out with a bang, so I think this is entirely possible.

Another Rumour also states thaty we will be getting a giant 40 seat version of an S&S Screamin Swing. This came from First Drop Magazine.

So, what do you all think about theese?

"Kinzel wants to go out with a bang"? Have you heard him say this? If so, where? That's a bunch of Wanna Be in The Know bunk. Just think about what you are suggesting: Kinzel is God-like, there are no board of directors, no unit holders, and no one but DK that decides what IS THE BEST RETURN ON INVESTMENT. If you want SciFi, go watch Star Trek or the SciFi Channel.

Rant over.

I think you misread the "wild rumor". The way I interpreted it.... The original rumor was dueling flyers but a new rumor might be fliring with 500 feet. I didn't not read it as a 500 foot flyer and, quite frankly, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't ride a 500 foot flyer.

But, we are talking Screamscape here. I might be more inclined to believe the Lemon Chill guy than a Screamscape rumor.

Also, the site said that the B&M Flyer would be put on hold for this. Not that it was a 500 ft B&M Flyer. I would not 100 % trust Screamscape rumors anyway. Many of their rumors never happen. This site knew about maxAir prior to it bing posted there.

Not to mention a 500 foor flyer would be a major change in operations for B&M who, for, well, forever, has concentrated on making flat out awesome rides rather than just trying to break records.

and, what everyone else has said about the whole rumor. It's just that they might be flirting with 500 feet, not a 500 foot flyer.

I really hope this isn't true as I would rather see a flat out awesome coaster rather than another record breaker. I hope they do go with B&M though. I've liked what they did with Raptor and Mantis, I'd like to see what else they can do for America's Roller Coast.

Sometimes I don't think "rumor" best describes some of the junk that comes from Sreamscape. Don’t get me wrong they do provide some good NEWS, but when it comes to rumors....just forget it.

And doesn’t "a giant 40 seat version of an S&S Screamin Swing" sound allot like something CP already has.... cough! cough! maXair, cough! cough! :)

And I agree with you JuggaLotus on the whole CP getting an awsome coaster rather than another record breaker. But when it's time for that record to be broken, I'm sure CP will be there to bring us something really cool!
And who knows, maybe it's already in plans. ;) *** Edited 6/17/2005 6:57:53 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

I havent posted here in a while, I diddnt know you were all so.. anti-rumourish. But seriously, what would your problem be with a 500ft. Flyer. Personally, I think it would be pretty awesome, it would give you an actual flying experience. I notice that some of you are saying that B&M focuses on making flat out great rides, which is true, but why cant a record breaker also be a flat out amazing ride. Why not have both?

To Mr. Scott, I would think a ride like this would be very profitable. It would break a crazy amount of records such as height & length for steel and flying coasters. Think about the advertising possibilitys, think about how many New visitors would come to ride something that massive and cool. Sounds profitable to me.

Oh an I think I read it correctly In bold Letters it says 2007-B&M Flyer, then it goes into detail where its hints about being 500ft.

500 feet? Boring! Wake me when they get to a quarter-mile.

If I want to go on a 500 ft flyer I'll ride in a motor plane :)

Except the only reason it is in that spot is because he is talking about the dueling flyers being scrapped.

from screamscape:
2007 - B&M Flyer - Wild Rumor - (6/17/05) As much as I liked the idea of Cedar Point making their own version of Dueling Dragons with B&M Flyers, I’ve heard that this idea has either been dropped or put on the back burner. They’ve got something else in mind for the next big coaster in 2007 and it could involve the magic number “500”.

How you are associating 500 with the flyers doesn't make sense as even screamscape isn't being that outlandish.

B&M doesn't do record breakers or launches. The prefer to make reliable rides that kick tail rather than unreliable ones that push height and speed barriers.

B&M doesn't just build whatever a company wants.

The flying coaster configuartion it nowhere near designed to handle G-forces from a 500ft drop. It would be very painful.

B&M knows they already have solid buisiness and they have clearly stated that they're not the recrod-breaking type.

In conclusion, a 500ft B&M Flyer is just out of the question. Dueling? That may be a pissibility.

A what?

Didn't B&M turn down doing Millennium Force because they didn't want to build that high? That was in 98/99 so things could have changed, but I doubt B&M will be the company that breaks the 500ft mark.

And TTD 120mph how is the Screamin' Swing anything like maXair? Even if you can somehow relate them explain the park building Power Tower when they already had Demon Drop.

The Screamin' Swing is a LAMER maXair. The ride experience from a Screamin' Swing is exactly that of maXair, minus the spinning. I rode the 4 seat SS @ Dorney and found myself very dissapointed with the ride. I just don't see such a flat as a good investment considering the addition of the Huss Giant Frisbee this year.

The big problem with Screamscape is that if somebody sends a rumor in and claims to be in the "know" they post it. Heck, who hasn't sent a rumor into Screamscape to see it posted. ;)

If I were a park owner I wouldn't purchase a Sceamin Swing if I already had a Giant Frisbee. While C.P. has a history of duplicate or similar rides, the Power Tower was at least a considerable upscale from Demon Drop. I rode the Sceamin Swing at Pigeon Forge, and while lots of fun, cannot match the thrills offered by the Frisbee. Larger versions of the SS (like Kennywood's) just offer more seats and are no bigger than the 4 seater I rode. If anything I can see C.P putting one in as a pay-per-ride attraction back at Challenge Park. But there, a 40 seater would hardly be necessary, so who knows.

I am certain Sceamscape was not intending to link B&M and the rumored "magic number 500" coaster.

A "pissibility"? Surely you know what that is, Chief.
