the midway

I haven't been to the point all that many times, so this may be a stupid question, but...

Is it me or did they take out a bunch of the midway building 16? I think it would be cool if they put the midway right down the middle of the ride.

Just a thought...

Yeah. That would be pretty sweet but it doesnt look like they took out a WHOLE bunch of the midway. Oh well its too expensive anyway

How can you say "it's too expensive" when you don't know how much it cost? You are just assuming. You know what happens when you assume, right? You make an ass out of U and me.

That would've been cool if they would've made the launch track a little higher off the ground and have the midway surround the supports under it so you could walk right under it.
It would be cool, but the clearance would have to be pretty high, well at least higher than Magnum's when it goes over the midway.

The turnaround at the brake/station end of the ride is only a few feet off the ground, if I recall some reports...

You should not be allowed nor want to be near the blast track at all. Imagine the kind of problems that would occur if an object got ejected from the car and hit someone. At 100+ MPH, I think that would cause a pretty bad injury.
Yes, well, let's hope nothing ever get's "ejected" from the train like that. That's why you put your loose items into the bins before you get on the ride so things like this can be prevented. Besides, you won't loose anything this way. ;)

Are you implying something, CrazyCP?

who says it has to come from the train? you know some idiot would stand under the track and wait for it to launch, so he/she could throw a caramel apple or something straight up.

Very true Got One. So let's all agree, no objects should be moving towards or away from #16.

Enjoy your ride

The one problem with the midway in relations to #16, is the congestion that corkscrew will cause. If there is even a fraction of 'running of the bulls' it will get pretty interesting to watch the bottle neck area. For the people that will enter through the magnum entrance, they will get a several short wait rides before the sheep arrive in numbers. [I should post the animal theory sometime...]

Maybe you should send a memo to Knott's Berry Farm, because you can get plenty close to that launch track. While you're at it, you should tell Cedar Point to move the queue and the ramps away from Millennium Force as well.

Or maybe we could all just visit SF;WOA and have a greater chance of receiving a complimentary flying projectile to the face!

If you build it, they will come!
I have been able to stand right under the Corkscrew as it crosses the same Midway for the last 26 years and it's never been a problem.

My aunt stood under the corkscrew once....and a set of false teeth fell out and hit her on the top of the head. Stuff can and will fall from anywhere...even peoples mouths!

I think that we will probably rather close to the ride. From the pictures and webcams it is right next to the mid-way taking a little bit of the midway with it. My biggst question is, how much more of a bottle-neck will this cause for that area of the park? Hopefully the que-entrance will be somewhere near Magnum/PWE.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

There shouldn't be a problem with the crowds in the Corkscrew area. #16's enclosed entrance/queue area will be across from Super Himalaya starting at the "foggy" end of the Iron Dragon track. I do see it getting crowded down by the PWE entrance area though from all of the rubberneckers with their camcorders and cameras hoping to snap pics.
Why can't they DIG UNDER the ride, Just a little tunnel or something
