The Mayflies are back

After seeing only 2 or 3 mayflies the last two mornings, I thought maybe we wouldn't see them in large quantities this year. Uh, wrong. Walked out this morning to see hundreds everywhere. Couldn't even walk outside without collecting a dozen on my shirt. I haven't seen them at the park, yet, but I imagine they're on the way.

You must not have made it to the park last weekend. WT's building was covered in them, and the queue was really crunchy.

That would explain why I hadn't seen them there. In the last 10 days, I've only been able to it over there long enough to catch the show at the Centennial Theatre. So much for living next door :)

That's funny. At CoasterMania there were covering everything, but the following Monday, there were none to be found (escept the dead ones on the MS flood lights). I wondered where they had gone, and though they were gone for good....guess not!

I didn't see any mayflies at CoasterMania... only midges (muffleheads).

Yeah, it's just horrible. At work today (East Harbor State Park Marina), they were covering the entire building and all over the parking lot....I tried using a hose on the building to help the "attack", but they just came after me then! Ahhhhh! LOL! Then...I found an easy and saddistic way of getting rid of them...nothing better than taking a vaccum cleaner with hose attached outside to do the dirty work! I know......it really would not matter anyway if I did that, but I was bored!...what a wicked way to have fun!! ;)

Cedar Point has got to have a lot worse though, determining there are millions of bright lights there!
