The line...

I saw something I hadn't seen in a while. THe line got to 2.75 hours! It was all the way into the temprary ques (by the train) and that was at 8 or so! I kinda felt bad using the freeway. All these people waiting an hour and a half or so seeing me get in front of them w/ no waiting.

I was at the point on monday the 12th....I got in for the ERT in the morning...at about 9:30 there was a HUGE line starting to build up for the millennium force...by about 10:00, the line extended all the way to the BBq place near the exit...I didn't even bother getting in line so i waited till 11:00 and got a freeway for 2 - 3 o' clock ....The day before the lines were fine though and it was a sunday.

The line always gets long in the morning because it seems like everyone HAS to ride MF first thing. In fact if I don't run to MF right at opening, I stay away from it until after 12:30 or so. Also, are you sure that it was 2.75 hours? Usually in the temp queues it's still only 2 or maybe 2.5 with full temps. Even Opening Day 2000, with only 2 trains running, I waited 2.5 hours with full temp queues.

No, I was there yesterday. The sign said 2 3/4 hour wait, and I could see by looking at the line that the sign wasn't wrong. I didn't get there until 2, so I didn't get a freeway (even Raptor and WT ran out of stamps by that time) so I just didn't ride because 2 3/4 hours just isn't worth it when you've rode it 60 times already.

If your talking about sunday, they were only running the red and yellow trains most of the day.

I didn't notice that. That would drastically increase the wait time.

I got in line at 9:55 Sunday night and the sign said 2 1/2 hours, and it was still back to the temps. The ride broke down at about 10:30 and didn't reopen for about a half hour. Once the ride opened up, we got on at around 12. Only a two hour wait, EVEN with a break down. Obviously people left the line, but I don't think that there was enough of a change to actually speed up the line last night. I just think they over estimate the line, which causes one or both of the following: People are happy when they get on much sooner than expected, and people aren't upset because it took much longer than the sign indicated, which I guess could be considered the same reaction. Just a thought.

From what I've heard Sunday was mobbed, as the middle day of a three day weekend usually is. No big surprise that the lines were maxed.

Not only was Sunday mobbed, but MF was only able to run two trains for a good portion of the afternoon. They were able to get the third one on later that night. A little research revealed that supposedly there was a crack somewhere in the chassis of the blue train that needed to be welded. We also saw several wheels off of it when we rode the train past there. I took one of my best MF rides that night as those trains were simply flying!

I don't buy that. Since they were messing around under the fourth car, I bet it's just our old friend the anti-rollbacks.

I am irritated I didn't get to ride though, as I'm almost certain that the ride was running the fastest it had all year. I couldn't believe how fast it went over the Magnum hill, and that had to amount to massive air.

Yeah, unless a train is off. A train was off smarty pants. Not only that but I've seen cards with longer times taped over the sign countless times.

Well, I am all for the lines. Keep those distributed earnings coming!
Don't know about the crack in the chassis, but on Labor Day, the mechanics were replacing wheels on the blue train just after the rainstorm. Prior to that, all trains were running.
