What lights?

Note to self: Never try to explain things to the GP!

On one of the renderings they had stadium style light cells. on the tower shining on the launch strip to add the effect of being on the top fuel dragstrip on an ESPN or SPEED channel broadcasted event. I think it would be awesome to have onboard speakers and speakers mounted on the sides of the launch with crowd noises and an anouncer's voice. Then when they "fire up the engine" you hear a loud VOOM CLAKADY CLAKCADY CLAKADY! from the on board speakers as it idles and then when it launches, i wanna hear that engine rev. It would also be cool if the train would vibrate while its launching or at least have tactile seats that vibrate giving you the feeling of horsepower. Maybe flares from the exhaust headers or just a puff of smoke when it takes off. Seeing, hearing, and feeling, THAT's beleiving!
You have an expensive imagination.

LOL but it would pay for itself dont you think?
Nope.. it sure wouldn't.

Well the way i see it, when you theme a ride, its either all or nothing. If you half @$$ a ride it might as well just been Stratacoaster. Personally i think it could be bad @$$ that way don't you agree.
Cedar Point's already outdone their usual selves in the way of theming. The trains alone are amazing!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

People want to ride this thing weither it has some coming out of it when it takes off or not. Personally, it sounds like a lame effect that wouldn't end up working after a year or two. Also, personally, I think it's "bad @$$" just for the fact that we're getting the world's tallest and fastest coaster, don't you agree? Or will you not be satisified until you have some lame effects that you won't even notice at 120 mph?

I just figured: Being someone who has driven top fuel before, I can tell you that the neatest things were the smallest details. Especially the sounds and feelings. Now granted, Cedar Point has accomplished the accelleration aspect partially as well as over all appearance. I say partially because in my experience with top fuel, I have acheived 0 to 314 mph in 6 seconds. Which, needless to say is more than anyone would ever get on TTD. But the greatness of that experience wasn't necessarily speed. It was the roar and anticipation while waiting for the tree to go green and the intense power that you can feel in your seat. By far not lame and all of which i noticed all while going 314 mph.
Some people are never satisfied...

Now what makes you say that. In case you did not notice in the opening of that post i stated "I think (read those last two words again) it would be awesome if..." not " Cedar Point had better (insert all ideas here) or else its gonna suck!" I was complaining of nothing, you just took it out of context. I was merely speaking my mind which i am entitled to do in this country last I checked. Me? I am very optimistic with TTD. But everyone's a critic. Plus, speakers and tactile pads are pre existing technology it isnt that expensive as there is no need for research funds. Sorry if people's ideas annoy you but that's your own problem.

I'm so sorry that I didn't take that as optimism.

Yes, thats just the way i see it, not that i am disapointed. What's your point?!
Speakers on the ride vehicles have become very unreliable on California Screamin' and Space Mountain at the Disneyland Resort. They just don't work regularly (although the big problem was pin trading/ haunted mansion letterman jacket yeilding AP holders who seem to complain about anything, and insist on being seated in a certain train because the sound works on that one only, which is why Disney turned off all speakers). Both Speaker systems have been added lately, and are not reliable. They do enhance ride experience, especially on CA screamin IMO. CP buying speakers for 6 trains would be expensive, and would return little money. Having video cameras mounted on the seats (which has been tried by disney on Superstar limo, but not video, just stills) would not be all that much more expensive and would be more likely to return their invested money.

As for Vibrations, Xcelerator's roughness is the vibrations.
