The Jump To Your Seat

Why did they build WT with such a big jump to your seat they could of at least put in a droping floor or gave us a latter to get to our seat.
Because if the dropping floor malfunctioned during the ride, everyone would break their ankles!

Meaning that if the floor raised during the ride, due to a malfunction, people would get hurt. Intamin's designs assures that the malfunction could not happen.

Unless you start first thing in the morning.

I remember reading somewhere that Intamin was toying with the idea of a lowering floor but hasn't completed anything yet.

I was in the coastermania recap earlier in the season. I will be much happier with the jump than to ever worry about a malfunction.
Still Could someone talk to the ride crew about a step ladder?

With the rehab of Six Flags Marine World's V2 (they built it too high and how have a diagonal front spike) they also allegedly installed a drop floor. My personal feeling is why bother? People can get up anyway, it's one less thing to break, and if there's some kind of failure, you won't hack off people's feet.

In my opinion Intamins Impulse needs to be redesigned in the area of seat heights. Many friends of mine who are tall can't fit in the ride. The harness hits the shoulders before it can go all the way down. So either make the track higher in the station and add to the height of the seat. Or make a lowering floor and add to the seat height. In my mind any ride were your feet are dangling should have a drop floor.

Yes, there is a height limit on the ride but it's determined if you fit in the seat.I don't see anyone over 6'6" getting in even if they are skinny. I could loose another 100 pounds yet the shoulder bar isn't going to go any farther down on me. Right now there is a gap in between my gut and the restraint because the restraint hits my shoulders immediately and can't go down anymore. When beginning the traverse up the front spike my lower half gets moved forward hitting the restraint which kina hurts.

I'm 6'7" and about 240 pounds, I fit in it perfectly.

I would say, WickedMaintenance, that you are thin enough in the shoulders, with most of your height in your legs.

My husband is only 6'4", 260 lbs, but carries most of his height in the torso. He has the same problem as Joe E. The restraint comes down over his shoulders, and there is a huge gap between the restraint and his gut. He can't get the restraint down far enough to connect the seatbelt (in the test seat), so he hasn't ridden WT yet.

Yeah, I do have broad shoulders so that may contribute to the problem.

How far away is the belt from latching on your husband? He does not sound that big and that sucks he can't ride. Has he tried grabbing the upper most part of the restraint by the shoulders and pushing down? That's what I found out works best instead of pushing in. Even the ride ops now tell people to do that. (I suggested that on media day :))

I am about 6'5" and had no trouble at all on WT. The restraint come all the way down and even came down more during a few rides which caused a bit of a stapling effect to occur. It's a good thing Intamin's harnesses are so well padded. But I had no problem.
I was just at CP yesterday and was alone so when they called for a single rider in the front seat I jumped to it and when I got in my seat the single rider I was riding with ws a lady in her early 40s probally and she could not jump into the seat. She had to put her knee up on the seat and climb up and then switch her body around. It was a big hassle. I was thinking what if they had a floor where it takes power to hold it up and if no power is applied it lowers. That way if something goes wrong they shut off power to it and it drops.
She should of asked for a step ladder.
