When both tracks are operating, the trains are almost always raced. Last Sunday, the ride woke up with three trains on the red side, then the three trains were added on the blue side, then two trains (one pair) were pulled off in the early evening...then late in the day they might have shut the blue side down. So they went from three trains to six to four to two.
As long as everything is working properly, it is almost always a short line because of the capacity (up to 3,600 PPH!).
Gemini gives more rides each season than any other Cedar Point coaster, proving once again that a ride's popularity cannot be accurately judged by the length of the line.
