The Funhouse was great

I wish they would rebuild this., but they never will. In the days when you bought tickets to go on rides and attractions, the funhouse's ticket booth was upside down as well. {I've only seen a picture of the ticket booth, I am not THAT old}
repost from another thread

the crooked room handrail queue/maze was always fun but the enclosed slides at the end were always the best.

Do I remember correctly that there was actually an exit for people who didn't want to go down the slides?

I think there may have been, because I distinctly recall my mom joining us in the funhouse, and I'm *sure* she'd never go down the slides. I'll have to ask her.

Those slides (along with the rocking chair on the ceiling) are some of my most vivid "old" CP memories.

I'm "almost positive" (famous last words) there were stairs to the left of the slides.

WOW....I distinctly remember the "rocking chair on the ceiling" and being amazed by it when I was young....I really didnt know what/where this memory was attached too....

Thanks.....

Yes Rob there was a set of exit stairs if you did not want to use the slides.

For what it is worth, some of the Funhouse themeing is used in the "Magical House on Boo Hill", worth a trip through this Halloween season.

Now, how many remember the crooked room handrail maze added an "escape line" so you just went around the outside of the room.

Maybe it is time to finally work on the "history project" a few members of this site have discussed. Sounds like an agenda item for the next GTTPFDRGM.

See you on the Midway,

I was little when the funhouse was torn down, but I have a lot of vivid memories of the interior and the slides... and listening to my mother scream her head off as she went down the slide. LOL!

I think I was most upset when the Funhouse was removed. It's still the one thing I wished had NOT been taken away.

I still remember hall of mirrors and that cackling witch that greeted you in the first room of the Funhouse. Did they use her in Magical House on Boo Hill? What other props from the Funhouse do they also use?

I remember the stairs. They had glow in the dark eyes painted on the walls and ceiling of the stairwell. I also remember the large tube that would turn while you walked through on a narrow bridge.
I think that rotating tube was used last HalloWeekends in the haunted house back by Wave Swinger (although the name escapes me at the moment...)
