the flamed logo...

here's my attempt at adding yet another pointless topic on the new ride...nobody's commented on the logo yet (then again i haven't read thru all 49 topics). don't you think the flames look sorta stubby? they should've had a more tribal, wispy look to them.

lol...you are complaining about the logo? Doesn't that seem kind of...silly? I mean, I doubt after a ride you are going to sit there and think, "Wow...that was an awesome ride...but you know what...that logo with the stubby flames just kind of ruined it."

my opinion on the ride has nothing to do with the name/logo. you could call it "the pussywillow" (yes it's a flower...) and i'd love the ride. the name and logo would still suck.

To be honest I like the logo... and I like the name. It's better than "redline" and "electroblast" and whatever else you guys were calling it.

Hey, did you know that this ride is a wooden coaster?

I LOVE THE LOGO! That's the logo I've been waiting for for along time! It's got that clean font that is perfect for a clothing line. It's alternative enough to please the teen crowd, and sporty enough to draw the jock/racer types.
Much better than MF and WT logo's anyway...those block letters don't do much for me.

actually it used to be a wooden coaster, but it jumped the track (sorry, i can't remember the gemini rumor correctly) so they switched it to a steel track.

I am into graphic design, and it was in my graphic design class today that it was announced.....so the first thing that was brought up was how nice it looks. The only improvements mentioned were to drop the "Top Thrill" part, and the Cedar Point logo, to make it a little more clean.

The second part that was brought up by a girl in the class is that it resembles a giant 420 foot p*nis......lol

I can just hear the jokes about the shape of the ride right now....endless possibilities.....heh

I for one like the logo. I have always liked racing, speed, and cars and this one packs them all in. But I don't care fot the name to much. They could have come up with a better name. It's like they just didn't try.

Rumour has it that focus groups picked a different name from the list of choices, but Mr. Kinzel decided on this Top Thrill Dragster. So if you have any complaints.....

The logo isn't that bad... it's just a logo. But, I know that CP is trying to be original in their names, but what happened to the one word names? Millenium Force - I like it... Wicked Twister - Not happening... and Top Thrill Dragster - Why? How about "Dragster"? That's what I'll call it, but oh well, still a great ride... I bet.

As for the logo, I think they could have made it better if it just didn't have "Top Thrill" in it, but maybe it's just me. Regardless of the name or logo, this will still be the second best ride in the park.

I didn't like "Millennium Force" when it was announced in 1999. But that name has grown on me and I can't really imagine it being called anything else. "Top Thrill Dragster" isn't bad and I think in time it will grow on me as well. I suspect that it will be called Dragster just as Magnum XL-200 is called Magnum.

I might have preferred "Top Fuel Dragster" ... I don't know.

That's actually a pretty cool logo. And about the name? Call it Dragster. We already call Magnum XL-200 Magnum. Why? Because it's a pain in the arse having to write all those d*** letters!

I agree with the girl who thinks it looks like male anatomy. When I first saw it completed, I asked my friend if she was going to go to CP with me and ride the giant -----!

Anyway, Logo is cool. The name Dragster alone would have been good, but it is cool that they were going after total theming making Top Thrill Dragster resemble top fuel dragster. I'm just happy to have a themed ride, especially one of this magnitude!
