Well, I was at school today and I noticed that the third grade classes at my building had narrative stories, on the wall, that they had written. They included pictures and I noticed one that looked like red roller coaster track.
It was about a summer trip to Cedar Point, and it was really neat to read. I would like to point out that the only two rides that got mentioned in the story were White Water Landing and Iron Dragon. The girl that wrote the story really enjoyed both of those rides. In fact, according to the story she rode Iron Dragon at least five times.
To all of those people who claim that the smaller coasters should be taken out, I offer this as proof that these coasters and rides offer something that Cedar Point would be missing without them. That is family appeal.
Anyway, I know that this subject has been discussed before, but I just thought that I would offer this story as proof of what many keep saying.
And THAT is why there will always be rides like Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport... no matter how big the new coasters are.

Its kinda funny, because I remember writing a similar paper back around 4th grade about being "forced" onto a ride which I thought was scary and way too big "Avalanche Run" and after the nervous wait in line and shaking my knees getting into the seat, I utterly enjoyed the ride and had to ride it again. Still took me another year to build up the guts to ride the much taller Gemini though...The Point has a lot coasters that will build up your confidence

Friends of mine from Canada visit the area every year and go to CP. Their young daughter absolutely loves the Iron Dragon. She can't get enough of it and is her favorite ride by far. As mentioned over and over, the secret to CP's success is that they have a nice mix of rides and attractions so there is something for everyone.
Take an example from the ski industry. At most ski areas the novice and intermediate runs out number the advanced runs. Ski resorts are just winter time amusement parks and need the family business just like parks in the summer. The family who plays together spends money together...
