the actual queue itself...

i remember reading somewhere that theres supposed to be some sort of tunnel in the queue, like a "trivia area" or something... i no longer have a pic to go along with the question...can anyone verify if im thinking straight about this tunnel thing or if im just clinically insane??? your help is appreciated...

I thought, based on a picture I saw, it was going to be in the "infield" near the bottom of the drop, and stretching towards the launch area. I could be totally off, though.

Check out Rob Deckers construction update:

Toward the bottom of the page he talks about the queue lines. I think what he means by the "Infield Tunnel" is the little tunnel that you will walk through to get to the "infield." They just put up a picture of it yesterday on CP's website. The way Rob makes it sound is that the trivia panels will be set up throughout the queue line. I could be wrong though.

Trivia panels in the queues should turn out to be cool.

Ok, what are the plexiglass panels that they are mounting on the side of the picture booth? Does anybody suppose these are the "Trivia Panels"?

Its called "SIDING". lol

I had to jump in there. Like i said that is the siding for the booth that looks like a checkered flag. Also being talked about in Webcam.

It looks to me that the siding of the building is going to look like a checkered flag. Maybe the photo building will be called the "Winners Circle" or "Photo Finish"
Odd are, you're going to know most of the facts on those panels anyway. Stuff like Legnth of the ride, and number of track sections, etc.

Ok, where in this post did you say that? I rarely go to the web cam post because it's usually posts about, "Whoa! Another clump of dirt is moved!", or, "They just hung a big rubber chicken in the station!" It get'sd kinda old, after awhile.

Not all the trivia panels will be about the ride, some will also be about the sport of dragracing. I believe some will compare dragracing to aspects of Dragster. For example, one might say that a real top fuel dragster uses 6,000 HP while TTD uses 10,000 HP.

eh, ralph, you seem to be on the ball with this. have ya been to Kennywood? Phantom has trivia panels in its queue, and they are nice. i hope Dragster has some crazy trivia panels to break up the monotony of a queue, yet i dont know how monotonous itll be when a 120 mph train goes whizzing by every 20 seconds...

I don't think it'll be the tunnel that goes underneath the ride to get to the infield, because if I'm correct that's where you enter the ride. It wouldn't make much sense to spice up the beginning of the queue when you're not exactly bored yet.

Hm, wouldn't it be nice if they incorperated benches into the metal railings in the queue? I've always wondered why they never thought of that.

More surface for annoying kids to stand on?

I acctually think that is a great idea. Then there wouldnt be a problem of people sitting on the railings or standing. Putting in some kind of benches would be amazing.

Since it is a race theme, they should give everyone little Go-Karts so that they can drive through the queue instead of walk. Could you imagine the chaos of the little traffic jams because of incompetent drivers or vehicle malfunctions? :) It couldn't cost that much to fund..hehe

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

Benches would be awsome...

better?

Benches are a great idea and often thought of how great they would be but imagine how much it would cost to add all of that in plus, like Gravity said, kids would stand on them, mess with them, and eventually theyre gonna start getting damaged, broke, or vandalized and cost the park even more money to fix a minor inconvenience that doesn't deter guests anyway...

better?
