Although it's still a bit too early to judge this year's haunts, I thought it'd be fun to take a little retrospective of sorts, namely to ruminate on what haunts Cedar Point's had that weren't scary, weren't unique, or just really weren't much to sneeze at.
The one that immediately comes to mind for me is the Toxic Tunnel of Terror, which I just remember for being insanely generic as far as haunted houses go. I remember it being pretty much like the charity walk-through haunted house my hometown Walmart had years and years ago, with only the spinning tunnel at the end to really give you anything different.
I also feel like the Tunnel seriously overstayed its welcome while other more distinct attractions came about, but honestly, I don't remember Undertaker U. being much more distinct the last time I went to a Halloweekends in 2006 or so.
Just for reference, Wikipedia says there are eight retired haunted attractions:
- Cedar Point Cemetery
- Fear Zone
- Happy Jack's
- Pharaoh's Secret
- Terror Island
- The Toxic Tunnel of Terror
- Undertaker U.
- Werewolf Canyon
...though I feel like it might be missing one or two from the first few years.
Ya it looks like Wiki is missing the original attractions. It's also missing some of the opening years, anybody know when Fear Zone, Terror Island, Toxic Tunnel of Fear and U.R. Dates School of Mortuary Science opened?

Didn't Toxic Tunnel of Terror become Lair of the Vampires before Club Blood?
Oddly, TToT, LotV, and CB all blend together as one in my mind, always seeming kind of similar with a not-so-memorable theme. Did TToT even have the caged dancers and the puking animatronic monster that have been around for years?
What was cedar point cemetery? I know all of the retired ones, except that one. Don't even get me going on werewolf canyon and Pharaoh's secret. I will never miss those :P
As far as I can remember werewolf canyon was the worst. From what I remember it was basically potted plants with guys in werewolf masks popping out. I did like the toxic tunnel of terror especially because of how close the park is to david besse, if I can remember correctly they had some pictures of the plant in the tunnel. I personally think club blood is more generic than toxic tunnel of terror, that could be due to the success of the twilight movies in my mind.
The cedar point cemetary was in disaster transport before the pharaohs tomb. It was replaced quickly though, I wish there were pictures of the inside.
First it was called "Fright Zone" and second the cedar point cemetery was back by maverick. It was less a scare area more than a attraction for the train. There is video of it, but I could not find it at this current Moment.

The Cedar Point Cemetary was inside Disaster Transport.

They were all generic until CP decided to stop phoning it in & actually put more than fourteen dollars into a given attraction. It's difficult to peg 'the worst' as they were all relatively the same, outside of the name and a few lackluster suggestions of theme.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
I wasn't there for several of the early incarnations, but I remember Pharoah's Secret being pretty weak.
My least favorite hands down was Pharoah's Secret. I just remember it being really bad with little decorations.
I missed some of the early years, but this guy mentions Eerie Manor before Undertaker U: http://amusementparkmadness.blogspot.com/2009/01/halloweekends-info...point.html
Can't say I remember this attraction.

It must have only been for a year or two but i did find a picture of it on flickr.
According to the link posted two posts above, Lair of the Vampire was there from 2004-2007.
