Thanks

Hey there MF crew, I am/was a sweep this year and test rode MF Sunday morning, 4 times...anyways, what type of anti-rollback device does MF use? Meant to ask you yesterday, but my lapbar was stuck...
Maybe you'll get some more replies if you take this to the Emploee Lounge, but who knows...

Anyway, the rollback system is magnetic. If the train stops of slips, the rollbacks engage onto an "I" beam...maybe Jeff or Rideman can explain it better. They've seen it up close...pre-assembled. (Well, not sure about Rideman seeing it pre-assembled) :)

MF count: 20

When the train is moving up the lift, an electric current is generated with permenant magnets from the movement of the train. If the train is not moving forwards, the current stops. The current powers an electromagnet or something that stops the anti-rollbacks from engaging. No current - the anti-rollbacks catch. Or something like that.

Each anti-rollback device includes a wheel that runs on a beam close to the middle of the track. This wheel generates a magnetic field the keeps the anti-rollback dog in the raised position. If the train stops, the magnetic field goes away and the dog falls into the down position, and engages the anti-rollback slots in the track.
