Texas Newbie Wants To Ride Millennium!

Howdy, y'all! First time on these boards.

I live in Texas, but am originally from Ohio. Mansfield area. (Funny--I live near Mansfield, Texas now!)

Anyway, I gotta say it...I MISS CEDAR POINT! Sure, they have Six Flags here, but it just ain't the same.

Watched a POV vid of Millennium, WOW, that ride looks too cool. I have gotta make plans to go to CP and ride that thing! Won't be this summer, though...not all Texans are rich. :( Maybe next year.

I have ridden 11 of the coasters at the Point...my favorites? Blue Streak (can't go wrong with a classic--first roller coaster I ever rode, when I was 12), Magnum, Raptor. My least favorites? Disaster Transport (whatta disaster) and Mantis (that thing did me in).

Even though not a roller coaster, how could I forget Power Tower?? LOVE IT!!

You would be impressed with the new Blue Streak! Millennium is BS on steroids... :D

I think you would like the new DT too. They added 3-D effects and I heard that it actually makes the ride funner.

Cedar Point is the best. I will never stop loving it. You gotta, You wanna, You have to hold on...Cedar point hold on!! :) :) :)

As for DT, I was amazed they rethemed some of the line, but the ride itself just was darker with some lights that would like stars with the glasses. I wasnt gonna pay a dollar for two pieces of plastic with some paper on them. I was hoping for something like what they did down in Universal Studios when I went. They had a huge bin you'd grab a pair of glasses, then when leaving they had another bin there.... I guess they figure its cheaper to buy more glasses that get stolen then to pay somebody to collect them all.

What happened to Millennnium Force?

Hi KJD, 

Fellow former Ohioan living in Texas.  I made it back to Ohio for the opening of MF,  and is well worth it.  You'll love it.  Not sure if I'm going back for Wicked Twister or not this year.  American Airlines has a $198 flight right now I'm considering,  but who knows. Six Flags down here has nothing on good ole Cedar Point. I was hoping the Titan would be taller,  but its only 255 ft high.  Can't believe they don't try to out-do CP,  whats up with that?  I would rather wait and go to Cedar Point than go to Six Flags myself.

The reason why they didn't out-do CP with Titan is because they used they just cloned Goliath, and added a helix before the brake run. It costs much less to use an existing design, and they can correct any problems they had with the first coaster's construction.

Everyone in this forum calls it somthing other than its proper name. Millie..MF(the one I like) Millennium thease are ok im not making a big deal over it just making conversation.

But the one I can't stand is on the midway the'll call MF "The Millennium"

Now that is sad.

I too have come to hate that name. The people saying it also have no clue that there is a FORCE on the end. If my teacher says The Millennium one more time, I'm going to hurt someone...>:-(

I tend to either call it "Mil Force" or "The Force"; sounds very Star Wars like, doesn't it? I can't wait to get to the park for my first time this year. I am in deep need of The Force.
