Testing...

When processing the season pass I could see MF testing. I only seen the blue and yellow train.

They ran a one train operation yesterday and will run a two train today.

Rip Cord/Screamsters 2003

I process in on tuesday, can't wait to see her run.

Sounds like the red train will be the last put together. It takes time to get the trains from many peices to a whole train. It might be a 2 train operation on opening day again this year. No biggie, It doesn't hurt the capacity too badly and the line shouldn't be very long especilly with TTD on the other side of the park.

MF's 3rd birthday is coming up pretty quick. :)

:edit: I can believe I pasted the same thing 4 times and didn't even realize it.

At 3:30 I was looking at the web cam and I could see one going up the first hill.

Actually, if you look at the archived photo on the webcam that's in the parking lot, you'll see Millennium Force cresting the lift.

As of 1 pm today, Millenium Force seems to be doing all out testing. Everytime the web cam changes there is a train on the lift hill in a different position. Good Signs.

Well what did you expect, that they'd fire it up next Friday and see what happens?

Ride operation is really easy; getting them to run is a real pain. They are redundantly safe but manufacturing and maintaining them is a real downfall especially after an off season.

It's not about who makes them, it's about redundant safety. Complexity has more part to fail, so why do they keep engineering them to be more and more complicated? That easy to answer, first of all it provides more safely. Secondly, some things aren't possible using simple circuits. Multiple blocks, quicker station movements, consistent train placement in the station in an exact position, and other very useful things.

Engineers and mechanics pay the price for demand for more sophisticated designs.

Added note: There are many reasons that us ride hosts can't reveal any mechanical issues to guests. The media is always looking for things to exploit. A bad choice of wording can mean something totally different from what is intended. The media is pretty much trained to exploit whatever they can, and ride hosts don't have the discipline to make decisions dealing with them.

One mechanic I've talked to from another park says that proof of Satan's existence is switches that don't work. And just think... Dragster has hundreds of them!

As seen today through the viewfinder of my video cam from Battery Park. Yellow train looked to be complete. Blue Train was in the station and Red Train only had 7 cars on it.
