Anyone know why they were pouring cement on the main midway today? I noticed a cement truck out there on the cleveland cam, I'm assuming just patching up spots and whatnot, but was there any construction out that way this winter?

Thanks,

John

I have an idea on why that dump truck is there. I dont know if you know this or not but CP is moving Raptor's entrance. I'm thinking that the dump truck is there to pour the cement for the missing section of concrete at the base of the entrance.

I thought they were only moving the FW entrance so that people know its there?

Secondly, that's an awfully long way down to be moving the entrance, we're talking the other end of the midway....the spot where the cement truck was, was the otherside of that tower thats visible in the cam, the last one before the skyride station....Isn't antique cars there or something? I can't remember which one right off hand, but maybe they reworked something there...

The truck was in front of Good Time Refreshments. There's a caricatures stand right there as well.

As far as the work, could be a hundred reasons why they were there (utility work, patching, etc.), but probably nothing very exciting.

Gemini is testing, As well as PT and now Mantis. MF is undergoing lift inspections.

TTD is not showing any signs of testing at all, But we'll see.

Magnum is also running the circuit right now. Testing of most rides has begun.

I've only seen Magnum and Mantis testing. Hopefully Dragster will start soon. When I'm controlling the funcam though after I make it go to a certain place after about 20 seconds it goes to Dragster. Its weird.

Man, I've been checking the cam quite often today, even just leavin the video running on my desktop hoping to see a train doing a circuit, but no luck, I have seen the people factor jump up this week as workers clean and paint things along the midway there, looked like someone was painting the Snoopy roof yesterday.

Does anyone know why they move the skyride cars out and leave them all day? I've noticed they pull them in at night, and my best guess (since the number of cars has gone up since a week ago) would be that they put all the ones already re-installed out on the line, and then hook some more up until they fill the station house, I could be wrong though. Any thoughts?

Dragsters elevator just went up and down. Maybe they will start testing it soon...I really need to find something better to do.

When do the college kids start checking in? Should see tons of activity as they go through training and what-not....

also, Just saw an UpShot on PT and the MF train running...and I agree with sean in that I really need something else to do...

Maybe TTD's catch car is still getting worked on. I wouldn't get worried. There's still 23 days to opening day. 23 long, long, long days!

Can somebody keep me posted on the testings? I have limited access. My e-mail is dragsterking06@yahoo.com and my AIM s/n is pjf44055. Thanks.
Hello there.Im not sure if this was asked but I am curious.Do the rides and coasters have to be inspected by the state of Ohio every year while they are being tested or once they get their certification they are good to go?I have no doubt the rides are safe but with the accidents a few years ago at other park(and not just amusement parks) was wondering if they are inspected by the state as well. Thanks

rollbacks=0 but missed by 1 train
To the best of my knowledge, CP has clearance to start testing all the rides during the offseason, but before any guests are allowed to ride (or most employees for that matter) the State of Ohio must inspect them to check for G-forces and what not. That usually happens in the 2 weeks leading up to opening day.

Each ride will be inspected and cleared (hopefully) before any guests may ride. Hope that answered your question.

Saturday work this time of year is important. Even more so because it is such a nice day. Even this early, the park is getting close to 24/7 operation - certainly the 7 part.

If you want to see rides testing I would use this cam. If the cam doesnt let you change the view just wait around for a few minutes and it may let you.

If you cant tell, this is a steaming cam and is way better than the Cleveland cam.

The Cleveland cam has a live video version too, although I don't think its a 'steaming' cam.

The cleveland cam is a better stream than funcoast, and since its not controlled it doesn't bounce around randomly when someone else has control. The funcoast cam isn't a true stream either, it set on 1second updates which is why its all jerky. The cleveland is a true stream, so even though you can only see a few things with the cleveland cam, I still prefer it over the funcoast
