Termites + Mean Streak = Shutting Down

Unfortunately, there was a news report about the serious termite problem Cedar Point has with Mean Streak. Supposedly, the little critters have eaten away at the supports for years now. It has gotten so bad that CP must close Mean Streak at the end of the year. Since the damage is unrepairable, the coaster will be torn down. CP will not say if it will be rebuilt or replaced. A sad day for all of us....

What have you been smoking mr.bean?

Florida may have Disney World and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

ummm...wow...maybe that was what all the trims were for :)

Seriously Mr.Bean......who do you think you are fooling?

and extensive termite damage...the thing was opened in 91

come on

If you're scared of heights, you won't be after Cedar Point

This is retarted. I was at the Coastermania Q and A session on Friday and Mean Streak was mentioned. They talked about how it costs about 200k per year to maintain it and how they don't plan on tearing down any coaster, especially Mean Streak, for a long time.

Is it a full moon?
1) I do not believe this for 1 minute.

2) Have you RIDDEN this thing lately?? Even if it WAS true, how is it so horrible?? ;)

Do not feed the trolls. The real Mr. Bean, Rowan Atkinson, was way funnier.
