tell me your experiences!!! :o)

hey guys! ok well I just went to cedar point for my first time ever yesterday and i absolutely LOVED it!!!!!! ive been to other amusement parks, but this one topped it all!! wow...ok well im gunna tell u a story because i think its funny...we got in like for dragster, and it was like a 2hr wait..i was scared, but it wasnt time to show it yet because we still had such a long time to go..finally with about 5mins b4 us bein strapped in, i started to panic! i was sooo scared..nevertheless, i went on...they put the seatbelt o whatever, and i REALLLY started to panic! i started screamin "get me offf!!" and i was shakin REALL bad! anyways, i stayed on...and i must say, those few seconds that the lights or whatever or goin off seemed like an hour!! i couldnt take it anymore and i seriously started to cry!! i had my face in my hands (the picture taken caught that moment) and i was really crying! well, i had my eyes closed and was screamin like mad on the way up, and when it turned and began to go down and twist i decided to open my eyes! it was seriosuly the most amazing thing ever! i could see the track under me and stuff!!!! WOW it was great!!! the train stopped and i was so shocked, i couldnt even move..and i soon realized i was holding my breath! i let it out, and then cheered with everyone else that just had the greatest time of their life!!!

so, that 17second ride (which seemed more like 3seconds) was TOTALLLYY worth the 2hr wait! and i can honestly say, id do it again!!! well, thats all..if anyone else has stories, please tell em! i wanna hear ur experiences too!!

I went this past Wednesday the 14th. Waited 3 hours. I was sitting in the left seat on the train and leaning to my right to see when they drop the brake fins so I know to brace myself. All of the sudden I see the xmas tree go yellow and we are gone. I remember the accelleration was amazing, then the sensation of slowing down after the train releases from the cable. I thougt for a second that we might not make it over the hill. I remember at the top of the hill taking a quick look around, it was nearly dark and could not see much. Going through the spiral on the way down, I remember my body twisting to my left, hanging out of the car. I swore if I was not stapled in the seat, I would have fallen out. I went back to work the next day trying to describe the ride to my friends. There is nothing to compare it too. The accelleration of the launch is incredible, the crest of the hill is breathtaking. The downward spiral is scarry as hell. (Did anyone else feel like they were being thrown out of train during the spiral?) The brake run is a sudden rush of adrenaline like I have never experienced before. I loved the ride, but I will not wait that long again.
I'm going to the Point for the first time ever in June, and all of these experiences make me wanna go out there now! But I have to wait, unfortunately. Great story there, hibs.
That Launch is truly amazing! 150 minutes for a 20-30 second ride! IT WAS WORTH IT! Man, I can not wait till I go back in June!
ok...we waited about 4 hours to get on ttd because of delays and all that. it had been running smoothly for about 3 runs before us. we get in strap in and move out. as we are in the staging position the engine is reving and i am ready for the launch. all of the sudden we weren't going anywhere, the christmas tree went dark and we felt no movement...we were stuck...after about five minutes i look back and see the guy in the booth on a phone so i knew we weren't goin anywhere for awhile. after sitting there for 10 minutes the lights kick on ad the engine comes back to life. in about 4 second we were gone! every second of this ride is great! the top was crazy because when you get up there evrything is blurry and you are just lookin down at millenium force track. the spiral was sweet and we came back to the station cheering.me and my bro lost our voices from yelling so much while we were on it. TTD RULES!!!!!!!!!! it was also kinda funny when we were stuck ecause we wre talkin to people right outside the gates and everyone was lookin at us wondering what was goin on. lol

From my opening day trip report...

I dashed over to Top Thrill Dragster and that's when I realized it: I'm a slow runner. I was the first person at the end of the tunnel yet was around the 10th into the queue. I would've taken a peak at the area and the entrance, but I was a mission: first public ride on Top Thrill Dragster.

The queue was about half-filled with the VIP Drivers. Upsetting as this was, I still waited, and took pictures. Seeing the ride in motion from "inside" the ride is nothing like seeing a picture or any video. Being able to hear the dragster noises and the safety instructions and then silence for about a nano-second and then wham! Dragster noises start up again and the thing shoots across the queue! You can start to see around where the camera is because there's a big wall right there. Then of course, it ascends, crawls over the top, and returns to your other side. No wall here, you can see their expressions. Boy did they look happy.

After an hour and a half we finally make it into the station, along with some other riders. We chose front row of the blue train because I knew we weren't going to be able to ride it again that day; we could see the overflow queue from inside the station.

So we sit down, buckle up, and I pulled the lapbar to "my liking". Then the ride op comes over and fastens it "not" to my liking. After a couple of seconds, I had forgotten about it because the train in front of us (that's right, we were on the second public ride) had rolled out. We immediately followed. At this point my adrenaline was pumping though I returned the "thumbs up" to the ride op, as I always do, but then I turned to fear.

As the train in front of us launched out, my face turned blank, and stunned. The shear terror going through my body right at that moment was more than there ever was in my entire life. Watching it from the grandstands, or the midway, or heck, even the webcams is one thing, but watching it from behind is another. Watching it go and getting smaller and smaller quicker and quicker and then turn up to the sky is awesome, yet terrifying, especially knowing you're up next.

And indeed we were.

Sitting there, sweating, watching the people on the midway staring at us in awe and disbelief, and them taking pictures of our terror...just unbelievable.

Then we kicked back a little, just two or three feet, then we stopped. My neck was shaking. My arms were shaking. At this point I didn't even realize how cold it was, and not wearing my sweatshirt didn't add anything now.

That, was definately the longest minute of my life.

And then it was out turn. Instantly we were going fast. Not knowing what else to think, I just automatically assumed this was the top speed.

But wait! A second later we were going twice as fast. At this point I was convinced that this was the top speed.

But wait! How could this thing go any faster? We were probably going around 90 at this time but I felt that there was no way we could possibly go any faster.

And wait again! We're still accelerating! Nothing to do, nothing to say, nothing to think (no time to think!), we had reached speeds that at one time were unknown to mankind.

And finally we turn up straight to the sky. I must say, viewing the tower from the tower is in NO WAY alike than seeing in a picture, video, or webcam. This is where all that height you've been hearing about happens. When we twisted we no longer could see the tower, and I looked, and we were level with Millennium Force.

Then comes the top hat. Wow, cresting over, looking DOWN on what used to be the glory of Cedar Point. Viewing the entire layout of the blue infant (and yes, I mean infant). But not for long.

Near-missing the tower is awesome, but not as intense as the launch. But still, coming in close, once again, no picture, video, or webcam is anything like it.

Pulling out. Once again, a smooth transition. Knowing where the cameras were but not acting on it made a very natural look.

Slowing down. Rocketing past the queue, seeing anxious riders preparing to board, then coming into a slow and smooth halt. No awe. No silence. Me screaming. Screams of joy. Using the word "God" a lot, probably because I might have seen him.

What a ride.

I got off and immediately and bought my picture. I'm the one that's circled.

I am way too busy to look and see if this was mentioned already. . .but my second time riding TTD, we hit a bird! It was crazy! There were feathers everywhere. A few people had blood and guts on their feet. . .I just had feathers in my hair. It's a fun ride though. . .not better or worse, in my opinion, than Millennium Force, just 'different.' It's cool. I bet it would be crazy at night.

Ross: Do you have a minute? I’d like to talk to you about something I’m, I’m really uncomfortable talking about.

Joey: Sure. What? About uh, you showering with your mom?

Ross: I actually had a topic in mind!

I went on Friday the 15 for Senior skip day. We got in line at about 20 to 8 because the park closed at 8 on Friday and the wait was said to be 2 hrs. We waited about an hour and then the ride broke down for like 20 minutes. We finally got up to the station and with one train up to the light one loaded in front of us and another two people in front of us they made the people get out of the 2 trains and we sat on the loading stage for about 30 more minutes until they got it working again. They launched an empty train and it looked like it was gonna roll back but didn't. Ten minutes later I was strapped in and ready for my first ride on TTD. It was dark. This ride was the most intense ride I have ever been on! It is definately the best coaster ever and worth the 3+ hour wait!

If you got beef then, eat a pork chop.

Well just something a little goofy...when we launched, the wind was so friggin intense it got in my eye lids and flapped them around...no joke!!...not to mention my mouth was completely dry at the end. The best part was seeing everyone in line laughing at me becasue i couldnt stop saying ohhhhhhhhhhhhh mannnnnn when it was allll over. :):):)
I went 5-14 and 5-15. We stayed at Hotel Breakers to get in early to get on TTD and wouldn't you know they were closed for filming. I was so mad that we came from North Carolina and payed the extra money to stay at Breakers to get in early and it wasn't even opened. Well Wednesday we got in line around 12:30 pm. Around 1:30 it broke down and we said if it wasn't running at 2:00 we would get out of line. It didn't start running until around 3:00 and we got out of line.

We got in line around 6:30 pm, after being walked off Iron Dragon when it broke down, and TTD was broke down. It opened again about 7:00 pm. We finally got off around 9:30 pm. It was great.

Thursday we got in line around 11:00 am, before they opened the line. They finally opened the line around 12:00 pm and we decided to wait for the front seats since we only had about 30 people in line. It was great. I was never afraid, but my sister chickened out.

I would say that the front seat was better than ridin in the middle. I have posted a few pictures of my ride. I am the one in the blue and white jacket. It was a great ride, I just can't remember seeing much.

Hey Top Thrill Dragster,

Do you have a high quality scan of your on-ride photo? I'm in the third seat of it. I bought my first one - http://www.intecinfo.com/Temp/153.jpg But didn't bother with the second. I'd love to see it again.

We stayed at Breakers Express and got in early yesterday. We arrived at the gates right before the Star Spangled Banner was played, and as soon as we were let in, we power walked to TTD. We were looking at a 45 minute wait, but as soon as we were next in line the ride broke down for about 45 minutes. So we ended up waiting an hour and a half for our first ride. It was NUTS. I really wasn't expecting how forceful it was... I mean yes its 120 mph but I guess I never imagined it would be that awesome. I was so shocked at how fast we took off, next thing I knew were going back down. lol. Awesome ride...nothing to explain it. We went to look at our pictures and were disappointed because for some reason no pictures off of our train came out. Doh!

Came back and got in line at 6 p.m. The sign said the ride was a 3 hour wait, but the line looked nothing like a 3 hour wait. We got in line and what seriously would have been only a 2 hour wait, turned into a 3 hour wait because the ride broke down for almost an hour. (are they starting to include downtime in their signs?? ;) ) At least they were nice enough to come over the intercom and let us know that it would be an hour downtime...that obviously made a lot of people leave. I couldnt believe how many people who were so near the front left...but less wait time for us! hehe. After we finally got on a 2nd time, I rode with arms up the whole time. I didnt think I was going to, but as soon as the lights started to countdown, I put them up. It was nuts. Loved every single minute of it and would wait another 3 hours again. (well if you include both wait times 4 1/2 hours)

I just think my husband was the most hilarious. After both rides he was yelling down to the queue after we had came back.."You will not regret waiting AT ALL!!" over and over. LOL.

Jamesb - I don't think we were on the same ride. I compared the two pictures and couldn't find any of the same people. That ORP was from opening day, at around 10:45.

Thanks for checking. I wasn't positive ... but we did ride around the same time. I was in the back "passengers side" of my photo and what I thought was third seat "drivers side" in yours. The MSN version wasn't overly clear so I took a gamble.

Glad you enjoyed your ride as much as I did all of mine!

a bird!! i think thats streachin the truth a little bit... i dont think you really hit a bird and then it it spread blood and guts all over the train. and if it had blood and guts and feathers everywhere... that would have to be one very large bird... allthough if there are any other ppl who can back this up, i would beleive you, but there arent any at this moment... nice try though

Um yes, we did hit a bird. It's happened at least twice. Why is it hard to believe that there would be blood and guts on people? Birds DO have blood and guts. . .they aren't plants or something.

It's on video, too, since the commercial was being filmed at the time. Maybe it will be in a Cedar Point Bloopers video some day.

But yes, we did indeed hit a bird.

are you completly sure you hit a bird? im kinda skeptical on your story; if other people can back you up, ill believe it...
