From The Tennessean:
Citing her idol Dolly Parton as a major influence, Taylor Swift is joining her fiancé and Six Flags strategic partner Travis Kelce as a Brand Ambassador for Six Flags parks, and fans of the pop icon will be excited to hear of an immediate impact at Kelce’s home park, Cedar Point, located in Sandusky, Ohio.
“Hearing Travis tell me story after story about his trips to Cedar Point as a kid reminded me of my own adventures at Dollywood after my family moved to Tennessee, just as my career was starting to take off”, explained Swift, who moved to Tennessee with her family when she was just 14 years old. “Dolly Parton has always been someone I have admired, and her connection to making kids and families happy through her theme park is just magical, and now we have a chance to do something similar in Travis’ childhood backyard”.
Swifties will likely be making a trip to Cedar Point in Ohio in June, as the park announced it will transform one of its iconic roller coasters, “The Gemini”, into a Swift/Kelce themed-ride dubbed “TNT”, a popular nickname given to the world-famous couple by their fans. The change will take place during a popular event knows as “Coastermania”, an annual mecca for roller-coaster enthusiasts at Cedar Point.
“Coastermania is part of Cedar Point’s legacy”, said Tony Clark, Regional Manager of Public Relations for Six Flags. “Travis and Taylor being part of our team is an amazing opportunity, and this is a way to ignite a new segment of our fanbase”.
The Gemini, a “racing coaster” featuring dueling red and blue trains, debuted in 1978. For Coastermania, the ride will be renamed “TnT”, and the trains will be rethemed featuring a Kelce-themed red train linked to his Kansas City Chiefs football team, while the blue train will be dedicated to Swifties everywhere, themed to the pop icon and her music, with her recent ballad Opalite taking center stage. Both trains will feature a new on-board audio system “Taylored” to each train’s theme.
Asked if the changes to the ride could last longer into the summer, Cedar Point was reluctant to say too much but hinted at the ride’s future. “If the ride generates the excitement, there are ideas about keeping the changes in place for the near future”, explained Clark.
Tickets for Coastermania are not yet on sale, but fans can keep their eyes on the park’s website at https://www.sixflags.com/cedarpoint for more information.
Promoter of fog.
When I first read this I just stared at the words as my mind became a Blank Space but after this news sank in I realized this is going to be a Cruel Summer. I haven't been to Cedar Point in many a Fortnight and never in my Wildest Dream thought Kelce and Swift would be bringing their Love Story to Cedar Point. I have tried my best to just Shake it Off but in the end there is too much Bad Blood and it isn't my Style to let things go easily. I know All Too Well I am going to be called the Anti-Hero and people will say "You Need to Calm Down" but after this I have informed Six Flags that We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. Don't Blame Me for this but maybe it would be best that Enchanted parks buys the park, I like their Style but even then we might not be Out of The Woods.
