Taller Skycoaster

Does anyone think that CP would ever get a taller skycoaster. Now that they are talking about 500ft ones, I think it would be cool for CP to have the tallest in the world.

It would be cool, but cool doesn't mean more profitable. If it's still pulling in the bucks, there's no reason to build another one.

500?! I didn't know that they could be built that high? Where are they being built?! I didn't think that the human body could take a 500ft coaster.

Skycoasters are based on the idea the most exciting experience you have is a free fall. Plus the human body can take it. Think of Skydiving for instance....

They haven't built one yet, but I've seen a couple of shows and articles about the 300ft one, and they said that a 500ft Skycoaster was in the works.

The 300 foot skycoaster in Kissimme at Old Town is the only one I've been on so far, has anyone been on both the one at CP and Old Town, and if so how do they compare?

Patience is a virtue

I get enough adrenaline from the 150ft version, thanks. My fear of heights doesn't need to be pushed any higher than that with nothing but a harness and a cable holding me up there. It hasn't stopped me from flying RipCord 11 times so far, but.. uhh... Let's say 'no' to the 300+ versions ;)

150 ft was enough for me. I rode it once, and am glad I did, but I'm not likely to do it again.

I have done both and other than the initial rise and drop, it isn't much better. I would say you slow down quicker on the Olde Town skycoaster. My guess is there is more drag because the cables are longer and there is likely more wind resistance at 300 feet.

I know what you mean Chief Wahoo. I have been on both and the 300ft one was fun and all but you did seem to slow down quicker. Still an adrenaline rush nonetheless :)
Screammachinekid, it's not a coaster, but a 500ft. version of Ripcord. Besides, the height of a coaster has nothing to do with the forces exerted upon the people riding. The pullouts and radii of turns, on the other hand, do.

Ive been on the one at old town....and let me tell ya, I would love to see a 300 foot ripcord at cp. It was the biggest rush of any ride ive ever been on.
I've been on both, and i have to tell you, the Old Town skycoaster is AWSOME! For one, it's the only tall thing around for miles. The Cp one is in the middle of several roller coasters. From the top of the Old Town one, you can see Epcot and Animal Kingdom. The only thing missing from the view is Lake Erie.
Although I havent ridden the SkyCoaster at Old Town, it does tower over CP's Sky Coaster. I was too chicken to ride it at OT, but I did at CP.
