Hey guys.
What was a originally supposed to be a couple friends going has turned into their entire family going to the Point July 19th, 20th, and 21st.
My family is staying in a Cottage and their family is staying in a Cabin, so luckily we'll be right near eachother.
I just need some outside opinions on how to start out at Cedar Point. The family has 5 girls, ranging in age from 7 to 20.
The oldest is one of my best friends and has been wanting to go to Cedar Point for years now and can't wait to go on Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, as well as the other rides. She conquered SFDL's Superman last summer and couldn't catch her breath at the end so I said "Just wait!"
Anyway, I was wondering what you guys think we should start off with if you were in my situation. I want to make their first trip memorable but especially their first ride.
We will be in the car for 7.5 hours, driving from Syracuse New York. We'll arrive about 4:30 or 5:00 and get in the park soon thereafter.
Do you think we should start with Millennium Force or TTD to start it off 'with a bang"? Or do you think we should all ride Gemini to 'warm up' and because of it's short line. Or do you think Raptor would be a good choice?
I just want to make the first night memorable and as fun as possible. I just don't know if after driving 7+ hours standing in line for Millennium for an hour and a half is the best way to start out.
So what would you do if you were me?
Thanks
-Dan
...Who can't wait for high school Junior year to be over and has 64 more days of waiting..
I would spend the first afternoon riding things with shorter lines as you find them. Don't stay in the park too late. Instead, focus on getting into the park first thing the next morning.
On the first full day, hit the headliners first. Take a mid-afternoon break--if only to Soak City or the pool, but get out of the heat and crowds. Spend the evening in the park on night rides.
The second full day, revisit things you really liked from the first full day, or hit secondary things you didn't have time for.
Hey, I'll be there the 21st for Starlight. I would say ride whatever has the shortest line, or Maggie like MrScott suggested...

Just take your time and have fun, staying for three days is the best way to go that way you don't feel rushed.Maggie would be a great first choice along with gemini, trust me after a 7.5 hour drive you will not feel like standing long lines first thing.Staying at Lighthouse Point(Our home away from home) you will get early entry thats when you hit Millie and TTD.
