Well, I was looking through the Cedar Point website, and came across this:
CedarPoint.com says:
...the Cedar Point Ballroom is available for guests to take a quick peek inside and feel the spirit of this beloved park landmark.

Anyways, my question is, is this true? Can I really just walk up there and take a look inside, or is this just the website talking? Has anyone else done this before?

I've walked up there before, don't think I've ever been inside of it, but I've looked through the doors.
I think it would be fine for you to walk in there. It's advertised on their website.
The doors are always open- there's an employee restroom in there, the costume shop, and the live entertainment office. There were many times that I was in there (while employed at CP) and guests were just looking around. I never said anything. Plus, CP sometimes has meetings (for guests) scheduled in the ballroom.
It's definately worth a look if you're into the history of the park. It's really neat to see.
It usually gets hot up there, but most of the time to doors are left open. It is a nice room, but without a/c, it doesn't do well for much. They hold some random events there from time to time. I've seen physiscs day events and CP group stuff up there from time to time. You may even see a random Live E person going to and from their offices.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. I would love to see some concerts done in the Coliseum, it is a decent location and could be set up for a serperate addmission price (to keep the crowds low). It would be great to see a rock concert or 3 there every year. :)

Thanks everyone for the input. I checked with Guest Services just to make sure, and they said as long as the doors weren't locked and they weren't setting up for an event, that I was more than welcome to take a look inside. For anyone who is interested, here's what it looks like inside:

Sweet. Hopefully when I'm up on the 10th (maybe the 4th as well) I'll take a look inside. I've always wanted to see it, and now I'll finally get too.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Thanks for the pics Doug. I can only imagine what it would've been like back in its day with huge galas. Its cool that CP has kept it around. It'd be really interesting if they were able to refurbish it back to its original days and repurpose it somehow.
I walked up to the doors yesterday to find they were locked. It looked like an even just finished because there was some trash on the floor. Pretty neat, although people were looking at us funny.
I remember having an awards ceremony for a choir competition I was in during middle school taking place up there... I wasn't a Cedar Point fanatic back then, so Im sure I would appreciate it more now...

It was really neat to see the pictures. I haven't actually been up there for a few years and it looks different than it did then. The walls around the tables and the ceilings used to be all gray with mint green trim. The stage looked a little different, too. The one thing that I was sad to see gone were the lights they used to have in there. They were these colorful upside-down tiered triangles, if that makes any sense. They were really neat looking.
Good pictures I must say. But my question is, what was the downstairs used for, and also where did the people park or enter the building at.
Thanks..
