Can anyone tell me if they still sell the Cedar Point sunglasses straps in the park? They're the old style with the black rubber piece to tighten/loosen them. I bought them about 10 years ago and it's the best strap I've had. I'd post a pic but I'm not very tech savvy and I'm not sure how. I was hoping to get a new one when I come, just wasn't sure if they still have the same ones.
They might be, but for some reason, I still prefer the ones they sold in the park.
I bought one at Cedar Point this year. I saw them in a couple of places but I can't remember where. I do remember they were always behind the cash register. Must be a easy/common theft item.
I bought two different styles at CP last year and neither lasted more than two days. Get Croakies or the other similar ones posted above.
I have a pair that I purchased at Cedar Point in 2014. I use them for every amusement park trip, and riding my motorcycle, plus any other adventures that would make me worry about losing them. I purchased them at the Snoopy gift shop along Gemini midway, and have been quite pleased.
My Cedar Point pair has been fine for a dozen visits this year. I had my previous pair for 2 years and somehow lost them over the past off season. So no problems with the quality for me either.
We've had several of them and only had one break. We've lost a few. I think the gift shop across from the Mine Ride area carried them. We've noticed the price for glasses straps varies widely within the park. In one shop they'll have plain ones for $6 and then in another they have Cedar Point straps for $2, or $4.
The fat, stretchy Cedar Point logo bands are 3 bucks and some change. I know this because every time I go I have to buy a new one, and not because they don't work. But because I either fail to bring one with me, or leave the one I did bring way back there in the car. I have a nice assortment in different colors. They sell them in every coaster exit shop, and other places too.
RCMAC is right, and you get a pass discount too.
They work fine for us, but we too forget them every time

When I bought one at the park they were sold on a cart right at the entrance before you even enter the park.
I find straps to be a bit redundant. I've never lost a pair on a ride, and that includes Magnum, Outlaw Run, TTD, and other high intensity rides
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
I never have either. Well, I take that back. One morning I rode Maverick two or three times with my sunglasses on, and there was no problem. Then on the next trip I had a grouchy op who insisted I remove them, and this was after we were locked in. So I had no choice but to try to get them in my pocket and when we got back to the station they were gone. I was just glad they were my gas station sunglasses instead of my Maui Jims.
Now it's the rule, so there's no way around it. Best be having a strap or be ready to stuff them down your shirt.
