Sunday or Monday

I'm faced with a difficult decision and could really use some help from the good people of Pointbuzz. My wife and I will be traveling to the east coast from August 21st-September 1st so of course we will use this opportunity to stop by at Cedar Point. This will be a first for both of us so we are extremely excited. Our options are to stop by Sunday the 23rd or Monday the 31st. Sunday would work better with our schedule of visiting friends as Monday would require a 15 hour drive the day before (Acadia NP) and would cut our time with friends short. My question is, would Sunday the 23rd be a good day to visit CP or would the crowds still be pretty heavy? We will stay the full time whichever day we visit and I'm open to purchasing Fast Lane if necessary, but would like to save the money if possible. What are the opinions out there?

Sunday the 23rd is predicted to be good weather (clear, sunny, pleasant) , no telling what the weather will be on Monday the 31st.

Sundays are generally slower. I wouldn't expect any waits to exceed an hour.

Sounds like Sunday would work better for you. Doubt the crowds will be that bad.
