Sunday masses

Hi all,

My family is visiting Cedar Point this weekend. Usually, we do not stay until Sunday, but this year we are. Does anyone know if Cedar Point or any nearby churches hold Catholic masses on Sundays?

I think about ten years ago the Breakers used to hold them, but I'm not sure if this is the case anymore.

Thanks!

Last I heard Breakers does still hold Sunday Morning Mass. Otherwise there are many parishes in and around Sandusky...

www.masstimes.org is a great reference. It does not list Cedar Point, but it does have the other Mass times for the Sandusky Area.

The Breakers does still have Catholic Mass on Sundays.

I think that mass is for the employee's only.

Last I heard, it was a mass for employees and guests, held in the East Breakers Conference Room on most Sundays.

That's not the point. Emily is choosing to attend services. Get over yourself.

mine is dumber - You should try attending once in a while. You don't have to go every week, but just going once is usually a good start.

Well I guess some folks will be spending the afterlife in a very warm place :)

Going to church is not a ticket into anywhere, or assurance you can avoid anywhere else.

Yikes... sorry to start a religious controversy.

Thank you to everyone for the help though! :)

No worries. It's not hard to start a controversy around here. Do a search for "Fathers Day" and you'll see. ;)

If you don't like smartass coments, you're in the wrong place, buddy.

And by "wrong place" I pretty much mean the internet as a whole.

I stayed at Hotel Breakers just a few weeks ago, they do have a Catholic mass for the visitors (and I guess employees).

Just to give a final confirmation or whatever.

Well said. If you like, you can justify that one with Ephesians 2:8-9. (1)

If that isn't a good enough reason to skip Mass for you, have a look at Amos 5:21-24 (2) and Isaiah 1:11-17. Look as well at Micah 6:6-8 (3). And then walk humbly with your God down the midway, doing justice, loving kindness, and with a clear conscience. :)

(See, I can quote chapter and verse on more than just ASTM standards and Ohio amusement law. But that's only because I took good notes in Religion class back in March of 1989...and I wouldn't normally do this in this forum except that I know I am already preaching to the faithful...)

(1): For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.

(2): "I hate, I reject your festivals, Nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer up to Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them; And I will not even look at the peace offerings of your fatlings. Take away from Me the noise of your songs; I will not even listen to the sound of your harps. But let justice roll down like waters And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream."

(3): With what shall I come to the Lord And bow myself before the God on high? (...) He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

I have not attended the Catholic services at HB, but it's nice to know they are there.

I'm not saying I will ever attend, I have some issues with the church, but it's nice to know the services are offered.
