Can anyone tell me why they only ran some of the coaster trains ont TTD, & Millenium Force plus why they only ran one Skyhawk swing. also, I may have misssed this a while ago but why did they take away one blue train and one red train on Gemini! It was so busy and the waits were to long and having the extra trains sitting on the transfer track made no sense. Especially with Corkscrew, Iron Dragon having all trains running.
Just curious!
Thanks!
Blue Gemini Always Wins.
Gemini can no longer run 6 trains. The airgates pretty much killed any shot they had at doing that ever again.
TTD only runs 5. Surprisingly, it is more efficient running 5 than 6. The blocking system that Intamin originally tried just didn't work with 6 trains because they kept violating blocks (if I am remembering right).
As for other rides, it could be they needed to do maintenance on a particular train, and that is why it was off the track.

^Happy birthday. I went 2 saturdays ago, and I was surprised to see Skyhawk running both swings even during the early entry. I walked on it twice in a row and they probably had about 10 people on it each time. I guess it kind of makes sense since there are only a few rides open at that time, but then when you see Power Tower running only one side of each style until around noon, it seems strange I guess.

I'm still shocked when I see a legitimate line for Gemini, even though it's now commonplace for the former capacity "king." I miss three- train operation :(
And another question about the 10th, were Magnum's trims off the whole day, or was it just me? I rode it 3 times and the train tore through the turn-around like I've never experienced before. Definitely awesome, even if they were on...

I didn't think that was the reason for going to a 4 train operation. I just figured that they were cutting down on operating costs. 4 or 5 years ago i remember the 3 train on each side always sat on the transfer track anyways. On a weekday they would never race if there was three trains on each side. I would rather have a little bit of a line than just the red or the blue. Just curious, how do the airgates affect the ride?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but they just add to the time that it takes to get a train out of the station. (Aside from the obvious safety advantage.) Without airgates, people can be stepping into the train as people are stepping out. With airgates, you get that good 5-10 second delay before they're even opened after a train arrives. Then, it takes a few seconds for them to open, and then people have to step into the car. It's a good 15-20 seconds that you lose. So, Gemini can't run 6 trains because the trains running the course would almost always get stopped at the mid-way brakes just before turn three. Then the ride would E-Stop...then you'd have to reset the blocks...

Millenium Force will be on a two train operation probably for the next few weeks if not for the rest of the season and staffing has nothing to do with it.
Skyhawk is down to one swing because the air compressor for the right swing is broken. Which proabably means it will be down for the rest of the season as well.
