Summer Spectacular Screen

Wonder if CP has ever considered replacing the monstrosity of a permanent screen with something retractable.

Hersheypark now has a laser light show in the back of the park, and instead of having the screen up 24/7, the frame is empty until showtime, at which time the screen is rolled up (down?) for the presentation.

I'd have to think that most people would prefer such a set-up.

I was always wondoring that with the Giant Wheel being behind it.you would think that they would take it down during the day.maybe some people are reading this that can help us out.
How about we finally kill of this monstrosity (and show) entirely; hasn't it lived it's useful life??

(No flames please, I'm sure there are just as many people who enjoy the show.)

It does ruin what used to be a beautiful view of the CP&LE station, and I must admit that I still don't care for the "closing rides early" policy for this show.
I remember someone(I think Rob) saying that they could not roll the screen up due to the way it is built. I wouldn't mind if they rebuilt it to make the screen fold(roll)up.

They should build one that can be rolled to the side during the day and just roll it out before show time. I really don't care for the look of it at all. The problem with the fact if you are rolling the screen up or down whichever one the monstrosity of a structure is still there to be seen. So Unless the move the whole structure I really don't see a reason for doing it.

Realistically, nothing will probably happen to the screen, but I say partial transparency is better than the opaque mass that resides there right now. You'd be surprised how much less you'd notice the actual aluminum structure if you could see what was behind it...

I have always liked the suggestion of relocating the screen to the bottom of Lake Erie.
Well, rumor has it that they don't take the screen down during the winter and as a result it has been relocated to the bottom of the lagoons a couple of times...

(note: Unconfirmed rumor, of course)

I know of one time where it was deposited in several nearby trees :)

I'm so incredibly used to the SS screen that I don't even really notice it. I am glad they didn't build the bleachers they were planning to though....yuck.

I was just at Dorney and saw theirs (well..ours too :P )...god, their sound system BITES compared to ours!

Dorney is also in a pretty confined space. And while the sound isn't much, at least the screen doesn't block your view of anything.
